A blanket is more than fabric, it’s warmth, comfort, and a reminder that someone cares. 🤍

This season, we’re inviting our community to come together for Sew for Solidarity, creating handmade items for displaced mothers and babies in Jordan.
Whether you sew, quilt, knit, or crochet, your handmade gift will be hand-delivered to a refugee family, bringing comfort during the winter months.
🪡 We welcome:
• Handmade blankets (up to 45 × 60 in / 114 × 152 cm)
• Diaper bags
• Toiletry bags
• Small handmade gifts for mothers

📦 Please deliver completed items by September 30, 2026.

🦋 Small acts of kindness can create lasting change.
Through our Butterfly Giving Program, your monthly donation helps provide more than immediate relief—it helps build safety, dignity, and hope for women, children, and families facing displacement.

Here’s what your monthly gift can do:
💧 $12 – Provides essential supplies for one person.
👶 $20 – Supports a mother and her baby with water, diapers, and safe shelter.
🏠 $60 – Helps a family access clean water, showers, and safe shelter.
🌍 $100 – Keeps essential water and solar systems running for an entire community.
At Solidarity Engineering, we build water systems, shelters, safe play spaces, and education programs that protect women and children during crises—and long after.
Together, we can create solutions that don’t just respond to emergencies—they help communities rebuild with dignity.

A single letter can spark a lifelong passion for science. ✉️🔬

We’re excited to partner with Pre-Scientist to connect STEM professionals with students through a year-long pen pal program.
By volunteering just 10 hours over the course of a year, you’ll exchange handwritten letters with a student, share your journey, answer questions, and help make careers in STEM feel more accessible and attainable.
Whether you’re an engineer, scientist, researcher, or work in another STEM field, your experiences have the power to inspire the next generation.
✨ Remote opportunity
✨ Science communication training provided
✨ Only a post office is required

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is your chance.

A bathroom is a place where every child deserves to feel safe, clean, and respected.

At the Jerash (Gaza) Refugee Camp Women’s Centre, more than 300 children rely on these facilities every day. Years of deterioration left broken toilets, flooding, no lighting, and a lack of privacy, creating serious health and safety concerns.
Together with our local partner, we completed a full renovation to restore these spaces with dignity. The project included fully renovated washrooms, improved sanitation infrastructure, and a new accessible bathroom, ensuring children of all abilities can use the facilities safely.
Because dignity begins with the spaces we often overlook. đź’™

Introducing Solidarity Engineering.

We’re a humanitarian engineering nonprofit working alongside displaced communities and local partners to address infrastructure challenges that directly impact health and daily life.

Our work spans water and sanitation, shelter improvements, renewable energy, safe spaces for children, STEM education, and women’s health programming across Mexico, the U.S.–Mexico border, Jordan, Ukraine, and beyond. Every project is shaped by the needs of the communities we partner with.

From summer practicums to year-round impact.

What started as short-term student placements has grown into a global network of campus chapters advancing humanitarian engineering. From assembling hygiene kits to leading research on health equity, students are helping expand what’s possible for communities experiencing displacement.

With chapters now at McMaster University and New Mexico State University, we’re building more than programs—we’re building a pipeline of future engineers, public health leaders, and changemakers committed to global solidarity.
