Way to go Las Conchas and CEDO!

Good News from Puerto Peñasco: From September 13 to 15, we released 35 olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) hatchlings on the beaches of Puerto Peñasco, a very important milestone for conservation in our region. This achievement was made possible thanks to the work of Cedo Intercultural Mex through the Jñar Ñawaa Turtle Camp ("Turtle House" in Cucapah), with close supervision by PROFEPA and the valuable collaboration of the administration and the Environmental Monitoring Committee of Vecinos de Las Conchas A.C.

This event is especially meaningful because sea turtle nesting is very rare in our region. Every hatchling that makes it to the ocean is a major step forward in protecting this endangered species.

The work carried out at the Jñar Ñawaa Turtle Camp at CEDO is vital to ensuring the future of these little explorers. But we can’t do it alone!

We were informed today of the passing of one of our Vecinos, Kenneth Barry.

We wanted to express our deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time.

Good Morning Vecinos!

We want to give you the news that yesterday October 31, 2024, the HALLOWEEN event was a great success at the convention center of Puerto Penasco, together with the City Hall, DIF, CAVIF and the Asociacion de Vecinos de Las Conchas, all the people who attended received their candy and gifts, the kids were very happy.

Many thanks to the organizers, to all the community volunteers who helped and to all of you for donating the candy.

We hope to repeat the event next year thanks to you all. Once again it was shown that our community is very united and that together we are doing great things in the city as well as in Las Conchas.

HALLOWEEN CANDY DRIVE AND EVENT

Vecinos, we need your support for our annual Trick-or-Treat event, so please bring as much candy as you can for the children of Puerto Peñasco. Last year, the CRC handed out candy to over 1,800 children and would love to serve more children this year, so we need your support.

In an attempt to share with more children, the CRC has joined forces with the City of Puerto Peñasco, and other agencies, to increase our reach. The City is hosting the event at the Puerto Peñasco Convention Center and we want to show the community how committed Las Conchas is to serving the community.

Please share this with your property management company and all guests that will be arriving prior to October 31. You may drop off your candy at the Las Conchas office and we will also accept Peso or USD donations to purchase candy. Please put your monetary donation in an envelope and mark it Halloween CRC. We will be sure that we will represent Las Conchas and give back to the community that serves us.

Exciting News from our President “Urban Plan 2024”

Good Morning Vecinos,

Below are the water pumping updates:

Last night we were able to pump to Las Olas 2, Sections 3, 12, 13, 1, 2, 4, 5 & 9.

This morning we were able to start pumping to Sections 10, 7, 8, Las Mareas, Section 6 & Las Olas 1.

Supply has been good but, you still need to be vigilant with your supply. Things can change very quickly due to electrical or mechanical problems with the well systems. We never know what is around the corner and there is no guarantee this good supply will continue.

Please check your valves, meter & filters for clogs prior to sending a request to EasyHOA for assistance.

Report any running water from construction sites or homes to our guards.

Please inform your rentals of the need to conserve along with your maintenance and cleaning companies to do the same.

We all have a responsibility to ensure that the precious water we are receiving is not wasted.

Management and Conservation is key.
