In a time when American ideals are epitomized by nationalism and aggression, VOICES 21C aligns itself with the great American voices of compassion, love, and non-violence. VOICES 21C is an artists collective that is devoted to exercising the choral art in pursuit of human rights and justice and dedicated to a mission of global understanding through music.

We explore improvisational and interdisciplinary modes of performance through co-creating and utilizing an egalitarian consensus model.

We've heard from our community who is interested in learning more about what we do, and we want to dream together! Rehearsals have wrapped up for Day 3 of our residency in Puebla, MX with choirs at ! We’ve memorized together 15 pieces to put up in 2 concerts this weekend. We are so lucky to be in community with the incredible ISMEA musicians and to dream and sing together about a world that is freer for all of us.

Alberto Grau's "Kasar mie la gaji" has been performed and celebrated by ensembles from around the world. The text has shaped VOICES21C's upcoming programs in Mexico, and the piece itself is a poignant call for action to rescue a besieged planet from extractive greed, pollution, and destruction.
