💔 MEET ISIS — LEFT FOR DEAD, NOW FIGHTING FOR HER SECOND CHANCE 💔

Early yesterday morning, Isis was hit by a taxi and left broken on the street — abandoned by the very person who should have protected her.

She sat there, suffering, until one compassionate soul refused to look away. They brought her to safety and called us.

We didn't hesitate. Isis was rushed straight to Dr. Lalo, our orthopedic surgeon. Her left front leg was shattered — the fracture so severe that she was in surgery before we even had time to name her.

Today, she has an external fixator holding her broken bone together. She's alive. She's stable. And she's now with SOS El Arca Animal Rescue.

Are we angry at the person who abandoned her? Absolutely.
Are we furious at the driver who hit her and drove away? You bet.

But here's what matters more: YOU can show Isis that not all people are cruel.

She deserves more than survival — she deserves a life full of love, healing, and hope. And with your help, we can give her exactly that.

💵 AMOUNT NEEDED:
12,500 MXN or ($730 USD)

This covers her surgery, medical testing, food, and vaccines as she begins her long road to recovery.

Welcome to SOS El Arca, Isis.

You're safe now. You're loved. And you're never going back to the streets.

💙 Every peso, every dollar, brings her one step closer to walking again.

July Intakes: The Numbers Behind the Need

Last month, 10 animals found their forever homes in Canada, Belgium, and the U.S. But we took in 24 new souls—each carrying a story we wish didn't exist. Stories of pain, suffering, and abandonment.

The Crisis Unfolding in Playa del Carmen
We're facing an escalating animal welfare emergency. Abandonment, abuse, and neglect are surging across our community. Animals are being dumped on the streets, left injured without care, and surrendered at alarming rates. The problem isn't slowing down—it's getting worse.
Right now, we're caring for nearly 326 animals. That's 326 beating hearts who once knew hunger, fear, or worse. Our kennels are full. Our resources are stretched to the breaking point.

Every day brings impossible choices: Who gets the last kennel? Who receives emergency surgery? Who gets the chance we're fighting to give them all?
This is rescue reality—too many animals, never enough space, and a crisis most people don't see happening behind our gates.

But Here's What Keeps Us Moving Forward: You.
Your support transforms their pain into healing, one day at a time. You're rewriting futures. You're turning survival into second chances and fear into trust.
Every dollar becomes a meal, medical care, or a safe place to rest. Every volunteer hour becomes the gentle hand that shows them humans can be kind.
They've lost everything—but they haven't lost hope. Because of you.

Please donate or volunteer. Together, we're proving their stories don't end in abandonment.
They end in love.

If dogs could speak, what stories would they tell?

Every dog rescued by SOS el Arca has a story of hardship—living on the streets, being abandoned, neglected, or left injured after being hit by a car. But they would also tell you what it feels like to finally be safe, surrounded by love, compassion, and the care of our team.

Frida (formerly Alabama) is one of those dogs.

She knows what it’s like to search for food, hide from the scorching sun, and wonder if anyone would ever help her. Thankfully, we rescued her just in time, gave her the medical care she desperately needed, and offered her a second chance at life.

Today, Frida is living her best life in New York with Magda, who fell in love with her the moment she saw her photo. Their beautiful story is proof that rescue changes lives—not only for the dogs, but also for the people who open their hearts and homes to them ❤️

Frida’s story was possible because we rescued her from the streets, because compassionate supporters like you made her rescue and recovery possible, and because Magda chose to adopt.

Please help us create more happy stories like Frida’s.

Five More Second Chances ✈️💙

On July 26th, five beautiful souls began their journey home—four dogs and one cat from SOS El Arca touched down in Belgium, ready to write the next chapter of their stories.

Bryan, Bubbles, Baby, Socks, and Rufus the cat—each one carried scars from their past, but today they carry something far more powerful: hope, safety, and the promise of unconditional love waiting at the end of their flight.

We are endlessly grateful to the extraordinary families who saw past the hard days and chose to say yes—who opened not just their doors, but their hearts, to animals who needed them most.

This is what second chances look like. This is what your support makes possible.
Happy life, sweet ones. You are so deeply loved. 🐾

Thank you to every single person who believed in them, donated, shared, and cheered them on. Because of you, five more lives are forever changed.

❤️ From the streets of Mexico to a loving home in New York.

Not long ago, Max had nothing.

He was found abandoned on the streets of Playa del Carmen—malnourished, frightened, and completely shut down. No one knows how long he had been struggling to survive, but it was clear he had been neglected and left behind.

At SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, we gave Max the medical care, nourishment, patience, and love he needed to heal. Day by day, he learned to trust again, and his gentle, loving personality began to shine.

Then something incredible happened.

Val saw Max’s story and knew he belonged with her family. Today, Max is safe in New York, surrounded by love, comfort, and the family he always deserved.

Stories like Max’s remind us why we never give up.

But there are still so many dogs waiting. Every day, we rescue abandoned, abused, injured, and forgotten animals who have no one else to turn to. They need food, medical care, shelter, and a chance to find a forever home.

Please help us save the next Max. ❤️

Your donation makes rescue possible. Every contribution helps provide emergency veterinary care, food, shelter, transportation, and a second chance at life for dogs who have lost everything.

Together, we can turn heartbreak into hope—one rescue, one family, and one life at a time.

Thank you for believing that every dog deserves to be loved. 🐾❤️

Welcome Togo to our ever-growing family.

Sometimes rescue beats you down to the point of exhaustion—and that's on a good day. Other days it simply breaks your heart.

This is the case with baby Togo.
He was found alone on an empty lot, terrified and trying to survive by scavenging a deceased rat.

He was brought immediately to our shelter, and what we discovered shattered us.

Togo has severe chemical or thermal burns covering his tongue and the inside of his mouth—injuries so painful he cannot eat or drink on his own. His surgeon suspects caustic ingestion or direct burn trauma, but the exact cause may never be known.

He is hospitalized now, receiving round-the-clock supportive care and IV fluids to keep him hydrated while his damaged tissue begins the long, uncertain process of healing.

Please, if you can, consider a donation toward his ongoing medical care.
No animal deserves this kind of pain.
