📣 COMMUNITY UPDATE 🌿
Dear Breath of Life fam,
We would like to share a few important updates regarding situations and projects we are currently working on as a ministry.
🕊️ Update on Don Rodolfo Morales
As some of you may know, Don Rodolfo Morales was a homeless man whom we had been helping through Breath of Life some time ago. Sadly, he passed away last week, on May 21st, after being struck by a vehicle at Juárez Avenue and 115 Avenue.
At this moment, we have not yet been able to recover his body, as authorities have informed us that we must first resolve issues related to his personal documentation, which he no longer had due to his condition of homelessness.
We are currently working on gathering and restoring the necessary paperwork in order to continue with the legal process. We are also receiving support from the Religious Affairs Unit, who have confirmed that they will help us expedite the procedures.
Once the documentation is completed and we are able to recover his body, we will be asking for community support to help raise funds and provide him with a dignified burial.
Most likely, cremation will be necessary while we continue trying to locate his family, with the hope of eventually being able to return his ashes to them.
We deeply appreciate your prayers, patience, and support as we navigate this delicate situation.
📚 “Back to School” 2025 Campaign
We also want to share that next month the school year will come to an end and the children will begin their summer break.
In the coming weeks, we will officially begin announcing our school supply drive for the upcoming back-to-school season ✏️🎒
Like last year, we hope to hold our back-to-school event approximately one week before classes begin, which is usually during the last week of August.
This gives us about two months to collect as many school supplies as possible so we can support not only the children we have served throughout the years, but also new children and families arriving in the neighborhoods where we currently run community programs.
In the meantime, we have created an Amazon Wishlist so everyone can begin viewing the types of supplies and materials we will need. We will be sharing the official link soon.
🤝 Volunteer & Ministry Needs 💜
We also want to remind everyone that:
• We are always in need of volunteer hands during our Saturday community bazaar, especially at the beginning for setup and organization, and at the end for cleanup.
• This Friday we will also need volunteers to assist with logistics and video support during the recently announced workshop.
• And as always, financial support is continually needed to help cover ministry expenses, food pantry supplies, and community outreach efforts.
We are also always grateful for donations of:
🥫 Non-perishable food
🧼 Personal hygiene products
❤️ General items and monetary donations
We will be sharing the corresponding links and additional information in the comments.
Thank you for walking alongside us, for believing in this work, and for helping us continue serving our community with love and dignity.
