Today we recognize endangered species day. This tapir is taking a stroll down the beach of the Osa peninsula, Costa Rica, where expansive forested habitat remains. However, a key factor in the endangered status of the species is the degradation of habitat into isolated patches separated by roads and human development.
So what can we do?
• Support initiatives for forest preservation and biological corridors
• Respect and protect tapirs crossing through private property
Together we can work towards a future with healthy and connected tapir populations
