Join us for a thought-provoking journey that challenges familiar narratives and offers a deeper understanding of the people, cultures, and histories behind Mexico’s table.

Goreti Fabian is a researcher and cocinera with a passion for Mexican gastronomy, food history, and cultural heritage. Her work explores the historical, social, and anthropological dimensions of Mexican cuisine, with a particular interest in the contributions of underrepresented communities to the country’s culinary identity. Through cooking and research, she seeks to deepen understanding of Mexico’s rich gastronomic traditions and the diverse cultural influences that have shaped them. Her lectures invite audiences to look beyond familiar narratives and discover the complex history behind one of the world’s most celebrated cuisines.

Kicking off a full schedule of Terrace Talks for next week will be the every popular presenter Hector Aquilar with a totally new presentation. This talk will be in Spanish, translated to English by Linda Farthing.

This talk focuses on the three species of the green macaw which are found in Mexico. Describing its habitat, evolution, present situation and conservation strategies. This talk in Spanish will be richly illustrated and have captions displayed in English.
