La amazona frentiazul es una especie de ave psitaciforme de la familia Psittacidae que habita en Sudamérica. Es una de las especies de amazonas más extendidas por Sudamérica; ocupa las selvas de galería desde el Centro de Bolivia y Brasil, y partes del norte de Paraguay y Argentina.
Se conocen 3 subespecies de las cuales 2 están oficialmente reconocidas por diversos estudios, siendo estas:
-Amazona aestiva aestiva (nominal)
-Amazona aestiva xanthopteryx (ssp)
La 3ra es Amazona aestiva Bahia la cual no está reconocida completamente dentro de la avicultura moderna. Sin embargo diversos criadores, mayormente Europeos entre ellos un amigo mio, poseen dicha subespecie y continuan su reproducción y desarrollo con los años. Asi como su nombre lo menciona se cree que esta subespecie habita en la region de Bahia en Brasil.

The blue-fronted amazon is a species of psittaciform bird in the Psittacidae family that inhabits South America. It is one of the most widespread Amazon species in South America; It occupies gallery forests from central Bolivia and Brazil, and parts of northern Paraguay and Argentina.
3 subspecies are known of which 2 are officially recognized by various studies, these being:
-Aestiva aestiva amazon (nominal)
-Amazona aestiva xanthopteryx (ssp)
The 3rd is Amazona aestiva Bahia which is not fully recognized within modern poultry farming. However, various breeders, mostly Europeans, including a friend of mine, have this subspecies and continue their reproduction and development over the years. Just as its name mentions, it is believed that this subspecies inhabits the Bahia region in Brazil.
