Listen back on 💦
Mitamine Lab #69 - Water & Wax

A flood at home nearly ruined some of our records. While saving the collection, we revisited vinyls we hadn't played in years. It was a wonderfully odd mix which includes Ray Conniff, Rachmaninoff, Ferrante & Teicher, and the irresistible Pablo Beltrán Ruíz y Su Orquesta. Surprisingly, disaster makes for a good DJ.

Along with these rescued gems, we're also sharing some new promo love. Check out the latest releases from Phil Struck, Mel Keane, hydra:bad, and more.

Last week, MitamineLab presented 'Home' at . This episode focused on the idea that home is not just a place but also a sound. It exists in the music that shapes us, surrounds us, and quietly defines who we are.

Acoustic ecologist R. Murray Schafer reminded us that our sonic environment, which he called the soundscape, was never neutral. It influenced our sense of belonging, memory, and place. Sound, in this way, was not only something we heard; it was something we lived in.

These were the tracks that made up that sonic home:

& — Veiled
& — Shines for Eternity [ / ]
Dream — Karlrecords
(アウス)— Tsuyu ツユ [ / EM Records]
Campana —
— In a Rut ft. Sydney Spann
 — En la oscuridad
— Eclipse feat Diego Adrián []
— Mejor que Colo-Colo []
restinga — salina  []  japan — SHIN OIRAN []
— QLIDISTRAIDO FT ELE BROWN []
Ruido Social — THERIANS_ ¿REALIDAD O MANIPULACIÓN
Ritmos Autómatas — Calma chicha
80%BAUL — ESTÍMULO X3
80%BAUL — LABERINTO FT. LAIA
80%BAUL — ENEMIGO DENTRO DE MI

We haven’t disappeared. We’ve been shifting.

MitamineLab is back and evolving into a new era of fresh mixes, bold collaborations, and the launch of our new communication hub. To celebrate this rebirth, we are excited to feature the work of Sofia Mitsola (). We’ve always been captivated by how her art explores the power and presence of the human form. It reflects the energy we’re bringing into 2026.

This is just the beginning. Join our community through the link in our bio.

This weekend, we visited the impressive Miguel Covarrubias exhibition at the Palacio de Iturbide, located on Madero Street in the Historic Center of Mexico City. The exhibit features non-Eurocentric maps, portraits, and even codices—definitely a must-see.

At MitamineLab, we believe we have come across the portrait of Mim with a cat (slide 1), surely depicted in a past life.
