We are the first global multi-stakeholder community that facilitates and fosters spaces for dialogue, analysis, exchange of experiences and learning about care, its recognition as a need, a job and a right. It is an articulation between governments, civil society, union associations, the philanthropic sector, international organizations and academia with a view to implementing the care agenda from the local to the global level.

The Global Alliance for Care in the Asia Care Forum 🌍

We joined the regional convening to transform care systems in Asia and the Pacific, alongside UN Women, UCLG, CityNet and governments, civil society and the private sector from 10 countries.

We brought a clear message: partnerships and multilateral advocacy are key to moving care from commitment to action. 🤝
And because care is also built in community, we shared lunch with members of the Alliance in the region 🍽️💜

Women Deliver 2026 in Narrm/Melbourne gave us an opportunity to bring care into the global conversation on gender equality. We gathered diverse voices and explored care from many perspectives: care systems, economic justice, climate, health, disability, aging, cities, and beyond. 🤝💚

This is what is about: ensuring that the experiences, knowledge, and proposals of those who provide and receive care and support, as well as those working around the world to make care a public policy priority, are heard and help shape the decisions that affect our societies. 🌍

In this conversation, Deepika Mogilishetty reminds us why care must be part of the transformation toward gender equality.

Care at the centre of Africa’s development agenda 🌍

The Global Alliance for Care was proud to take part in the Africa Care Forum, held from 2–4 September at the African Union Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Bringing together policymakers, researchers, civil society organizations, care workers, development partners and other key actors, the Forum created an important space to advance dialogue, exchange knowledge and showcase African-led solutions for transforming care systems.

🤝 The Global Alliance for Care was there to contribute to this conversation, including through our own exhibition space where we shared our work, connected with partners and helped make visible the diverse experiences, knowledge and solutions that are shaping the global care agenda.

From financing care as public infrastructure to childcare, decent work, climate action and feminist approaches to care, the Forum reinforced a shared message:

Care is not a private issue. Care is a foundation for inclusive, equitable and sustainable development.

We are proud to continue building bridges across regions and movements, strengthening collaboration and advancing care as a global policy priority. 💜✊

🌎 La agenda climática también es la agenda de los cuidados.

El 1 y 2 de septiembre participamos en Ciudad de México en el Encuentro Clima y Cuidados: Experiencias del Sur Global, un espacio de diálogo e intercambio entre organizaciones comunitarias, academia, gobierno y organismos internacionales para seguir posicionando los cuidados en el centro de la política climática.

Durante estas jornadas compartimos evidencia, experiencias y aprendizajes sobre la intersección entre cuidados y cambio climático, conectando los debates globales con las realidades y saberes de las comunidades que sostienen los territorios y la vida.

Como parte del cierre, desde el Secretariado Técnico de la Alianza Global por los Cuidados, se destacó el camino construido junto a CLACSO, El Nodo de México y Consorcio Clima y Cuidados desde 2023: una apuesta colectiva por generar evidencia, fortalecer redes y llevar esta agenda a espacios de incidencia global.

Y miramos hacia adelante con un compromiso claro: seguir construyendo, desde los hubs regionales, evidencia e impacto en torno a esta intersección y avanzar hacia comunidades, sociedades y economías que pongan los cuidados en el centro de la acción climática y de la defensa de la vida.

🤝 En la Alianza Global por los Cuidados seguiremos tejiendo alianzas, generando espacios de aprendizaje y co-construyendo una agenda de clima y cuidados colectiva, estratégica y constructiva.

En el Pabellón de los Cuidados de Women Deliver 2026, reunimos voces y perspectivas diversas para hablar de los cuidados desde distintos ángulos: sistemas de cuidados, justicia económica, clima, salud, discapacidad, envejecimiento, ciudades y mucho más. Ya está en marcha la movilización para el Día Internacional de los Cuidados y el Apoyo. 📣

El 29 de octubre, unirá las voces, las experiencias y las propuestas de quienes brindan cuidados y de quienes los reciben, a través de acciones que se llevarán a cabo en diferentes territorios.
