Clase de Arte by Bernard Brunon and wife Nancy had 15 attendees today. The kids are regulars and help set up…they are distracted from cleaning up by the milk and barritas being served. We learned today that Yasmin, grade 6 has stopped attending school and is not working in the fields. We will work with her grandmother and father to get her back in.

You may remember Alondra, who had been in a horrible accident, and had a botched leg surgery. She underwent two additional surgeries at Shriners,but the growth plates in her bone had already closed, so she is left with a significant leg length discrepancy. Alondra would like to thank the donors who are keeping her supplied with shoes with a custom lift. She goes through a pair in about 9 months. The hills are rough on shoes.

It’s been a busy week and we aren’t half way through. Monday—Library, Purchasing food for despensas, & purchasing a piñata with candy for Dia Los Niños. Tuesday—Distrubution of clothing, household items and food then picking up donated items and sorting.
In the end it’s all worth it, so many smiles and hugs. But we are missing Carolina and sending good vibes to her and her husband.

El Berryman for the win! She picked up Oscar’s family for his appointment at the Club de Leones de Ensenada ACLions Audiology clinic. Rolando provided his repaired hearing aid. Trips with Oscar involve his whole family, and they can be amusing events.

Finally a bright sunny day for our February despensa. We had a lot of moms today! We use a ticket system so everyone has a fair shot at the”best” stuff. And also had a second round of drawings for the 4 suitcases we brought. The families love suitcases and use them for storage. Please keep that in mind if you have some older bags in your storage.
