We are excited to announce that, thanks to support recently received from the AI Journal (AIJ), ICAIMH 2026 will launch a "Student Mobility & Participation Scholarship Program" to help reduce barriers to in-person participation, and we are sincerely grateful to AIJ for their support.

In light of this, and to give additional time to students who may not have considered submitting due to financial constraints, we are extending the submission deadline by one week:

🗓 New deadline: April 8, 2026

Support will be assigned according to the number of eligible accepted papers and the funds available. Priority will be given to student-led contributions, with support allocated in the following order:

• First, FULL coverage of conference/paper fees for student-only papers
• Second, if funds remain, FULL coverage of conference/paper fees for papers co-authored by students and researchers
• Third, if funds remain, mobility micro-grants for students on student-only papers
• Fourth, if funds remain, mobility micro-grants for students on papers co-authored by students and researchers

After acceptance decisions are released, authors of accepted papers will be contacted to confirm student status for eligibility and to provide information on the available support mechanisms and how support would be received. All accepted papers will be considered for support, regardless of whether they were submitted before or after April 1.

We strongly encourage students and research teams to take advantage of this extended opportunity.

Nos entusiasma anunciar que, gracias al apoyo recibido recientemente por parte del AI Journal (AIJ), ICAIMH 2026 pondrá en marcha un "Programa de Becas de Movilidad y Participación Estudiantil" para ayudar a reducir barreras para la participación presencial, y agradecemos sinceramente a AIJ por su apoyo.

A partir de ello, y con el objetivo de brindar más tiempo a estudiantes que quizá no habían considerado enviar su trabajo debido a limitaciones económicas, hemos decidido extender la fecha límite una semana:

Los apoyos se asignarán de acuerdo con el número de trabajos aceptados que resulten elegibles y con los fondos disponibles. Se dará prioridad a las contribuciones lideradas por estudiantes, con la siguiente lógica de asignación:

• Primero, cobertura TOTAL de cuotas del congreso/publicación para trabajos exclusivamente estudiantiles
• Segundo, si los fondos lo permiten, cobertura TOTAL de cuotas del congreso/publicación para trabajos con coautoría de estudiantes e investigadores
• Tercero, si los fondos lo permiten, microbecas de movilidad para estudiantes de trabajos exclusivamente estudiantiles
• Cuarto, si los fondos lo permiten, microbecas de movilidad para estudiantes de trabajos con coautoría de estudiantes e investigadores

Una vez emitidos los resultados de aceptación, se contactará a los autores de los trabajos aceptados para confirmar la condición de estudiante para efectos de elegibilidad y para proporcionar información sobre las modalidades de apoyo disponibles y la forma en que éste sería otorgado. Todos los trabajos aceptados serán considerados para apoyo, independientemente de si fueron enviados antes o después del 1 de abril.

Featured at ICAIMH 2025 and now published in JAICA, this study offers a comprehensive bibliometric mapping of how Artificial Intelligence is being applied in mental health research worldwide. Covering nearly two decades of publications, it highlights the rapid growth of the field after 2020, with strong focus on depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and digital interventions.

The findings not only underline AI’s potential for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment, but also emphasize the importance of global collaboration and inclusion of underrepresented populations.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used to support mental health, but what does the scientific landscape really look like?

This bibliometric study mapped nearly 20 years of research (2005–2025) on AI in mental health, analyzing 97 publications from leading databases. The results reveal:

A sharp growth after 2020, reflecting global interest following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Depression, anxiety, and eating disorders emerged as the most studied conditions, with AI showing promise in early detection, su***de risk assessment, and digital interventions.

The United States leads in productivity and citations, though collaboration networks remain fragmented, highlighting the need for stronger international research ties.

New areas are emerging, such as orthorexia nervosa, digital CBT, and chatbot-based well-being tools.

This work provides a consolidated overview of current trends, gaps, and directions, supporting both researchers and practitioners in developing effective AI-based mental health interventions.

Comprender la demencia requiere métodos accesibles y no invasivos para evaluar el estado cognitivo.

En este estudio, los investigadores probaron una idea simple pero eficaz: medir los tiempos de reacción en tareas táctiles intuitivas en una pantalla grande.

El estudio reveló una clara relación negativa entre las puntuaciones del Mini-Examen del Estado Mental (MMSE) y los tiempos de reacción, lo que significa que los toques más lentos se asociaron con una función cognitiva más baja. Mediante la aplicación de modelos de aprendizaje automático como la regresión logística y las máquinas de vectores de soporte, los investigadores demostraron el potencial de clasificar automáticamente a las personas con demencia en grupos con un estado cognitivo más alto o más bajo. Sorprendentemente, el análisis también demostró que incluso un solo toque podría proporcionar información predictiva significativa sobre el rendimiento cognitivo.

Este trabajo preliminar abre la puerta a herramientas de detección de demencia asistidas por IA que sean interpretables y prácticas.
