Join Us to End Hunger in Los Cabos, Mexico
for $10 a month

For as little a specialty cup of coffee… you can feed a child & elderly for a month ❤️

Right now in Los Cabos, mostly children and some elderly depend on La Cocinita Kitchen for their daily meal. For many of them… this is the only reliable source of food they receive daily. Currently, Monday - Thursday, we feed between 250–350, but recently we lost several major monthly donors. Now we are striving just to keep the kitchen open consistently.

At the same time, about 150 more people, mostly children, from a nearby struggling community have started showing up hungry… hoping there will be enough food left. This will bring our total to 500 kids and elderly per month.

Imagine being a child or elderly and wondering:
“Will there be food today?”

The beautiful part is this:
It only takes $10 a month to change that story.
Just $10 a month
Feeds a person for up to 20 days
Costs about 50 cents per meal

This isn’t about charity.
This is about giving children the chance to:
• Focus in school
• Sleep without hunger pains
• Smile again
• Simply be kids
• Living without fear

Our goal is simple:
500 children/elderly fed consistently Monday through Friday, not only Monday - Thursday!

Not by one big donor…
But by many people giving a little.

La Cocinta received food last month thanks to your support 💙

Due to our funds being reduced this year, we are stretching them to make sure that we have enough saved for the next food run because we don’t know if we will be receiving extra funding and are basing it off what we have coming in with our monthly reoccurring donations. We are praying and hoping that this changes soon but for now we are grateful that we’re able to even get food for the kitchen. We know God is in control and that God will provide if it’s God’s will to continue to support the families we feed Monday - Thursday.

In the meantime, we’ve donated some clothes that Patricia can sell to try to raise money and to buy food on her own. She has a little store outside of the kitchen, as seen in the photo, that helps her, but the average sale is about $.75 to $1. It’s not much but it helps a little bit when she even get a sale.

The La Cocinita Fundraising Campaign

This is an easy campaign to be part of and to share with your friends. Not only is it easy, but the end result will bless hundreds of children with a meal Monday through Friday. For only a $10 DONATION per month you can feed a child for the entire month. Depending on the exchange rate, we are able to get meals down to around $.50 per meal. Our goal is to raise enough money to provide for 500 children per month Monday through Friday rather than Monday through Thursday.

We have lost some of our reoccurring monthly donations so it’s been hard to carry the kitchen for the entire month. The numbers of meals we provide average between 250 and 350 per day depending on if we have enough money to provide for both locations. Also, there is a new invasion area not far from the kitchen that is starting to come and ask for food that consist of at least another 150 children. The demand is high, but the resources are low.

With your help of just $10 per month we can help transform a child’s life so they’re not in constant survivor mode. That way they can focus on being a child rather than being a victim of poverty.

Isabel is now working at La Comer in San Jose 4 hours a day cleaning the store. She and her family are very comfortable and feel secure in their new home. They are still struggling to get the water hooked up from the city. We gave her an opportunity to do it on her own but we will need to step in and help her by going to the office ourselves. In the meantime, the neighbor is selling her water to fill her water tank.

Esperanza is doing good. Her son is still training to be a chef in high school. She is still pasturing her church which we purchased many years back. We purchased a house with land, but since then it’s been converted into our church. Her and her congregation were able to partner with another church and raise the money from another church partner to finally add the cement roof.

Grandma Carmen was finally able to receive surgery on the three hernia that she had after waiting almost a year for the free the government medical aid to help her. She feels much better but now she has bronchitis and slowly getting through that. We’re hoping in the near future that we can help them with a roof for their second floor so they have more room to live in as there are 7 of them living in 2 rooms right now and that includes the kitchen.

Carmen is doing ok. She fell and hit her head and back so she’s not working right now but we’ll start selling fresh fish again soon. We’re trying to find a mentor for her middle-aged 16 year old son because he still depressed from his father’s death 6 years ago and doesn’t want to go to school or work or do anything. If there’s any Spanish-speaking men out there with experience that can help with this please let us know 🙏🏼

In the meantime, the help we give all of them with the food, keeps them out of survival mode and helps them focus on being a family. Keep in mind all these families don’t have a man in the household so the mothers are playing both roles. They need our prayers.
