DON'T MISS THIS LA CASA FUND RAISER .....IT IS SUPER SPECIAL ...“PADDLE BOARD ODYSSEY”
We are so grateful that through La Casa de los Niños, we not only are able to provide a free afters school enrichment center for the kids of Lo de Marcos, but we are also able be a part of many healing and precious tributes. This year, our friend “Skinny” approached us about idea to both honor his late wife Pau
line and to support La Casa de los Niños. Skinny, a retired teacher and coach, sat with us one evening as we overlooked the plaza in Lo de Marcos, and told us of his wife Pauline and her passion for teaching and her love of children. She was an advocate for kids and found many ways over her lifetime to make a difference in their lives. “Pauline would love La Casa and she would want to be a part of it” he told us with a precious fondness in his voice. He told us of his idea to take a “Paddle Board Odyssey” this holiday season in which he would “take Pauline with him”. It will take several days to make this trek from Chacala, Nayarit to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, a distance of about 60 miles. He will progress along this route as the tides and weather dictate and he will scatter her ashes along the way. He hopes to complete this trek by Christmas. Skinny wants to begin his tribute to Pauline around the Thanksgiving Holiday. Pauline organized family and friend Holiday gatherings for many years and he is eternally grateful to her for all that she has given to their circle of friends and family. Hence, his special paddle board challenge to honor his wife, provide a physical challenge for himself and help fundraise for La Casa de los Niños! Skinny will begin his “Paddle board Odyssey” on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He will be transported by boat, by Bruno, from Lo de Marcos to Chacala Beach where he will begin his paddle. Bruno and his boat will be alongside Skinny during the entire “Odyssey.” Tyler and I will be taking turns performing second mate duties in providing hydration, nourishment and moral support as well as photo documenting Skinny’s feat of love and endurance. We don’t know how long it will take for Skinny to get to PV, but we will be with him every stroke of the way! Watch for daily Facebook posts on La Casa de los Ninos’ and Skinny’s FB pages! As noted above Skinny would like everyone to support his cause by donating to La Casa de los Niños an children’s enrichment program in Lo de Marcos. It is a US based 501c3 Nonprofit.
