Humane Society of La Ventana needs to catch up with bills this summer. We always have a lull in June/July and then it is hard to get through August and September but in the fall the donations start coming back in cause tourist come back. This is when we ask for help.

Dog food can be donated and dropped off at the desk front at Playa Central or DM us to learn about dog walking and helping out with events we need to get on the calendar. Having a garage sale to raise funds for the pups next weekend.

🐾 It costs about $2.50 a day to feed our pack — and right now, we really need your help keeping their bowls full.

Meet our current crew of adults, all between 18 and 24 months old (that’s Amber pictured!):

🐕 Mash & Gravy — short-haired husky mix littermates
🐕 Amber — sweet herding/shepherd-type mix
🐕 Matilda — a lean, gentle little black dog
🐕 Mango — not yet available for adoption while we work on his confidence, but very loved! 🥰

How you can help:
🦴 Even $5 goes a long way — with economic uncertainty, many of our monthly donors have had to cancel, and small donations are carrying us through.

🏥 If you visit the vet regularly, consider donating 200 pesos toward our Bark for Baja bill with Dr. Christian Pozo — he always lets us know when a donation comes in. We’ve worked together for 12 years and are so grateful for his kindness in letting us run a balance during slow seasons.

The good news this month 🎉
💛 Jasmine has officially been ADOPTED! (Shown in photo)
💛 Polar finalized his adoption this week and is headed to New Orleans with his new owner!

Two June adoptions in our slowest season — we are so grateful! ☺️

6 dogs need foster or forever homes: Mash, Gravy, Amber, Matilda, and recently spayed sisters Brina & Blair — both ready to go home today.

🐾 Bark for Baja needs your help feeding our little ones!

This spring brought us a wave of intakes — puppies and dogs who’ve gotten their vaccines and are now getting spayed. We’re so grateful to our vet here in El Sargento, who’s also our puppy food distributor. But the bills add up fast, and right now we have an outstanding vet and food bill.

Here’s how you can pay it forward:

💛 Make a payment toward our bill directly at our vet in El Sargento — every peso goes straight to vaccines, spays, and feeding our rescues.

💛 Buy a bag of puppy food or treats and drop it off at Playa Central (the Windsports & t-shirt shop) — we’ll get it straight to the pups.

Every bag, every contribution helps us keep these little ones fed, healthy, and ready for their forever homes.

We just had a huge puppy emergency and are in desperate need of financial aid to sponsor this pup’s medical care. She’s a special needs dog now — almost half of her intestines have been removed and she’s in for a long recovery. Help us catch up with our bills on this special case.

She went in for emergency surgery yesterday and will remain hospitalized until further notice.

Hi… I’m just a baby named Jasmine — about 2.5 months old — with jade green eyes, tiny white socks on my feet, and a heart that wants everyone around me to feel safe and loved. 🫶

I’m the kind of girl who would rather trip over my own paws than accidentally offend anybody. I like to observe first, learn the rules, and figure out who I can trust. Once I do, I follow along happily and learn very fast. I already know how to read the room like a little old soul in a puppy body.

In a couple weeks, I’ll be spayed, which means I’m already on the path toward being a healthy, responsible companion for my future family. All I really need now is a soft place to land, kind humans to love, and someone who sees how special the quiet puppies are too.
