¡Feliz Día Mundial de los Maestros! 🍎❤️

Estamos muy agradecidos por todos los maestros que han querido, apoyado e invertido en nuestros niños y jóvenes a lo largo de los años.

En especial, agradecemos mucho a los maestros de Libertad y ISEA, por su paciencia, por animar a nuestros chicos y por ayudarlos a seguir avanzando en sus estudios.

Y también a nuestros amigos que han trabajado con nosotros en el pasado — dando tutorías, ayudando con tareas, dando clases o simplemente sentándose con algún niño o joven que estaba batallando y necesitaba un poquito más de apoyo — gracias. ❤️

Para algunos de nuestros chicos, la escuela no siempre ha sido fácil, así que contar con maestros que tengan paciencia, que puedan ver su potencial y que sigan creyendo en ellos significa muchísimo para nosotros.

Estamos muy agradecidos por cada maestro que ha sido parte de su historia. Han hecho una diferencia en sus vidas, y también en las nuestras. ❤️

We’re SO close to finishing the space for our young men! 🙌🏽

This week tile is going in, the toilet was installed today, the breaker box is in, and the AC gets installed tomorrow — just in time because it’s still HOT here! 😅

We still need about two thousand dollars more to finish the bedroom, bathroom, and living room.

LIFE IN GUAYMAS ☀️| September Heat

September means fall is coming…
Just not here. 😂

Average high: 92°F / 33°C
Average nighttime low: 81°F / 27°C
Humidity: 68%

An average September high of around 92°F might not sound *that* hot—but the number doesn’t tell the whole story.

When the **nighttime low is around 81°F**, your house never really gets a chance to cool down.

Many families don’t have air conditioning at all. For those who do, running it comes with an extremely high electric bill—and the average home does not have central air. One room might be comfortable while the rest of the house is still hot. In fact, in our home, every single room is a different temperature ranging from about 78 degrees (when the AC has been on all day) to the kitchen, which is usually in the 90s.

Some stores and gyms don’t have AC. Public buses are supposed to use theirs, but often don’t. The AC in our car doesn't work, so just imagine showing up to pick up your kids from school with your hair soaked from sweat and it dripping down your face.

And September is also **hurricane season.** 🌀🌧️

You might think a good rainstorm would cool everything down—and for a few hours, it does. But then the sun comes back out the next day, hits all that moisture, and suddenly **Guaymas feels like a sauna.** 😂

The humidity is so high that you sweat constantly. You walk outside and sweat. You sit still and sweat. You get out of the shower…and start sweating again. And if you wear glasses, good luck seeing out of them, they steam up immediately!

It’s one of those parts of **life in Guaymas** that a temperature on a weather app just can’t explain.

And yes…we are VERY ready for “winter.” 😂☀️

WHY WE DON’T SHARE EVERY STORY ❤️

We could probably raise more money if we told you every heartbreaking story we know.

If we shared every detail of what some of the young people we love have experienced.

But their stories belong to them—not to us.

The young people we serve are more than the hardest things that have happened to them. Their pain shouldn’t have to become public in order for their lives to matter or for their needs to be worthy of support.

So sometimes you’ll see us share a photo without the whole story.

You’ll hear us say, “We’re seeing growth,” without explaining exactly what that growth looks like.

You’ll hear us celebrate a victory without knowing everything it took to get there.

And that’s intentional.

We want to tell you enough to understand why this work matters, while protecting the dignity and privacy of the people who have trusted us with their lives.

There are beautiful stories being written here.

Some of them just aren’t ours to tell. ❤️

And we believe protecting their story is part of loving them well.

Dignity is part of the impact.

Today is International Day of Charity ❤️

Biblical charity is more than giving something away. It’s allowing the love of God to move us toward people—to see them, serve them, and walk beside them.

Right now, that looks like preparing a transition home for young men who need a safe place to grow, learn responsibility, and step into adulthood with support.

Our goal is $20,000, and as of today, you’ve already helped us raise $9,613!!! We are so incredibly grateful. ❤️

Our hope is to have the young men moved in by September 30th, but before that can happen, we still need to complete the bedroom and bathroom, plumbing, and electrical work. It's totally possible! 😅

¿POR QUÉ UN HOGAR DE TRANSICIÓN? 🏠

Cumplir 18 años no significa que de repente ya sabes cómo ser adulto.

La mayoría de nosotros tuvimos a alguien a quien acudir cuando no sabíamos cómo llenar una solicitud, administrar nuestro dinero, buscar trabajo, sacar una cita médica… o simplemente cuando la vida se sentía demasiado pesada.

Pero muchos jóvenes que vienen de situaciones vulnerables llegan a la mayoría de edad sin tener esa red de apoyo.

Por eso estamos preparando un hogar de transición.

No se trata solamente de darles un lugar donde dormir. Queremos ofrecerles un lugar seguro donde puedan aprender a salir adelante por sí mismos, sin tener que hacerlo solos.

Un lugar donde puedan aprender a ser responsables.
Trabajar y aportar.
Equivocarse y aprender.
Crecer emocional y espiritualmente.
Experimentar una familia y una comunidad sanas.
Y descubrir que ser independiente no significa estar solo.

No queremos hacer las cosas por ellos.

Queremos caminar a su lado mientras aprenden a hacerlo por sí mismos.

Ese es el corazón de nuestro hogar de transición. ❤️

Un lugar seguro para esa etapa entre la adolescencia y una vida independiente.

WHY A TRANSITION HOME? 🏠

Turning 18 doesn’t magically make you ready for adulthood.

Most of us had someone to call when we didn’t know how to fill out an application, manage our money, find a job, make a doctor’s appointment—or when life simply felt like too much.

But many young people aging out of vulnerable situations don’t have that safety net.

That’s why we’re building a transition home.

Not just to give young men a place to sleep, but a safe place to learn how to live independently while still having someone walking beside them.

A place to learn responsibility.
To work and contribute.
To make mistakes and learn from them.
To grow emotionally and spiritually.
To experience healthy family and community.
To discover that becoming independent doesn’t have to mean becoming alone.

We aren't trying to do life for them.

We want to walk beside them while they learn to do life for themselves.

That’s the heart behind our transition home. ❤️

El miedo siempre tiene preguntas.

¿Y si fracaso?
¿Y si me rechazan?
¿Y si algo malo pasa?
¿Y si no puedo?
¿Y si termino solo?

Pero Dios no siempre responde nuestras preguntas diciéndonos qué va a pasar.

Muchas veces nos responde recordándonos quién estará con nosotros.

“No temas, porque yo estoy contigo.”
— Isaías 41:10

Tal vez la situación no cambie inmediatamente.
Tal vez todavía haya cosas que no entiendes.
Tal vez no puedas controlar lo que viene mañana.

Pero no tienes que vivir controlado por el miedo.

Porque cuando conoces cuánto Dios te ama, el miedo comienza a perder su poder.

“En el amor no hay temor, sino que el perfecto amor echa fuera el temor.”
— 1 Juan 4:18

💛 No necesitas conocer el futuro para confiar en Aquel que estará contigo en él.

MIEDO DICE: “¿Y SI…?”
DIOS DICE: “YO ESTOY CONTIGO.”
