Sanctuary is dedicated to provide a shelter to senior abandonned cats. We relocated from Belize to Mexico, in the small coastal city of Chetumal in 2016. founded as a sanctuary? After many years of researching local culture P.A.W. sanctuary founder Madi recognized that most locals did not believe in the concept of adoption especially when it came to cats and that locally P.A.W. would not be succes
sful with adoptions. As animals were getting older P.A.W. recognized that the majority of the animals would probably remain to live out their normal lives at P.A.W. For these reasons, P.A.W. was founded as a sanctuary to offer a safe haven for the animals in need. That said P.A.W. continue to look for good homes overseas for the adoptable kitties. To adopt a kitty its pretty easy, we do all the paper work for you, find an es**rt traveling to your home town to deliver your kitty & all you got to do is pick your fur baby at the airport. PLEASE ADOPT ONE OF OUR KITTIES SO WE CAN HAVE ROOM TO SAVE ANOTHER! What type of sanctuary is P.A.W.:
P.A.W. is an organization that has the characteristics of both a sanctuary and a shelter; for instance, we continue to spread the word about finding good homes for our animals that are adoptable while others that have special needs and that we know will not do well in a home setting will remain as permanent residents at PAW. Our mission is to be a safe haven, where the animals receive the best care that our sanctuary can provide. Animals are not bought, sold, or traded, nor are they used for animal testing. Our resident animals are given the opportunity to behave as naturally as possible in a protective environment. What distinguishes our sanctuary from other institutions such as shelters etc. is the philosophy that the residents come first. Here at our sanctuary, we always scrutinized any and all actions so that no trace of human benefit at the expense of non-human residents may ever exist. We act on behalf of the animals, and the caregivers work under the notion that all animals in the sanctuary, human and non-human, are of equal importance. Our sanctuary is not open to the public in the sense of a zoo; that is, the public is not allowed unes**rted access to any part of our facility. Our sanctuary tries not to allow any activity that would place the animals in an unduly stressful situation. One of the most important missions of our sanctuary, beyond caring for the animals, is educating the public, as our ultimate goal is to change the way that humans think of, and treat, non-human animals especially cats.
