So some very sad news,
As you are possibly aware I was set to bring Chester/Tanner back to Chicxulub this morning, but when I arrived to pick him up they said he passed away in the night.

This came as a shock to all of us as yesterday he was happy, eating wagging his tail, and if I wasn't out catching Blondie and Floyd he would of been released yesterday evening, I am actually feeling a little better that he passed at the vets, as this way at least we know what happened and if he went back to Chicxulub and the streets he could well of wondered off and passed away and we would never of known.

If Chester was Tanner then he could of been 8-10 years old at least and lived on the street all those years with the aid from some very kind hearted people,

Thank you to Stephanie who took him in and Tracy who also alerted me about him.

As always, I buried him and put some greenery on his grave.

Sometimes when dog catching things take a strange twist,

So Blondie and Floyd who I have been trying to catch over in Boulevard turistico Progreso decided they would move into a garden on the beach, that was good, we have to block off under the front gate and a passage way to the beach, but we had a plan!!

So today I went at 4.30 I went with blowdart, wood to block the escape under the gate and the trap to put at the end of the passageway and if they decide to bolt down the passage way they will be in the trap!!

One problem the dogs didn't want to go in the garden today!! So I sat for an hour chatting to Alex and Alberto and every so often one would walk down and peak to see if they were in the garden, by about 6ish nothing, so I said I would leave the trap and wood and if they wanted to try thats great, Alberto went for one final look and came back to say they are trapped in a different garden across the road!! We went to see and there they both were gate closed and Jose the house owner had them contained, yeah!!

They sill went down a side passage but no way out , now our only issue was how to get potentially bitey dogs into two crates, we put the crate and the entrance to the passage but they weren't moving, next I put the catching stick on Floyd's neck and he wasn't happy, howling, barking as the home owner had his family inside I didn't want to upset them so we aborted that idea and in the end I darted them both and we removed them to a crates.

Tomorrow morning they will go to the vets and Tanner will be collected and returned to Chicxulub!!

This poor little girl was throw away in a cardboard box on the Chicxulub to telchac road.
Probably about 10 weeks or so, Thanks to the man who found her and to Sheila Lundy for bringing her here and getting her dewormed and brovecto.

She is good with other dogs and loves a little cuddle!

SO, how would you like to adopt her? If you can't maybe you could foster her while we find her a home?

La próxima clínica Progreso es el día 24th Octubre y limitado a 200 cirugías,
El registro se realiza a través del número de teléfono y siguiendo el proceso.

Por favor, NO alimente a su mascota el día de la cirugía.

También podría valer la pena preguntar a amigos, familiares, etc., si tienen un collar isabelino que puedas prestar para evitar que tu mascota se arranque los puntos; también los venden a bajo costo en la clínica.
Y por favor, vigile atentamente a su mascota para asegurarse de que no se quite los puntos y abra la incisión.

Today I travelled to the other side of Chicxulub to check on a dog I was told about by a few people,
Stephanie who lives there found Chester as I named him in her street, chain around his neck beat up pretty badly, she took him into her garden and fed him and contacted a few people to help.

When I got there my initial worry was they said about possible maggots, with Screwworm being everywhere this was a big concern, on an initial exam I couldn't see any, so that was good, It seemed to me he had been hit by a car, some nasty abrasions on his leg inside and out, foot,scrotum and of course tail, but he seems to walk ok so hopefully no breaks.

So we got him In a crate and my van where he is currently in my front garden, he has had pain meds as well as anti inflammatory a little food and water and tomorrow he will go to the vets for a check and to see what's needed.

Will update tomorrow see his prognosis etc

Today I went to the Astillero Don Fransisco and then onto the port to check on the dogs that have been steralized and also the ones I gave brovecto to a while ago.

All was good at Don Francisco, one.of the guys there went around with me and we checked the incisions also I made a note of who needs dewormer and next dose of brovecto.

Then to the port were we have had issues with the dogs on many levels, you may remember the puppies that were there, sadly they are down to just two left, BUT they are looking good and making slow progress but progress!!

The dogs I seen today from the clinic looked good and and once again I was helped to check incisions etc

Next week I will give the next dose of ivermectin and brovecto.

And a massive thank you to Andrea who donated all the frontline and brovecto!!
