Another unforgettable Mexico hunt with Mr. Ronnie.
Last year he joined us in the Yucatán for an incredible ocellated turkey, brocket deer, and coatimundi hunt. This year, he came back for Gould’s turkey and what a morning it turned into.
We heard multiple gobblers at daylight and after about an hour one committed hard, coming in full strut for a clean shot. While taking pictures, another bird fired off less than 200 yards away. We made a move, worked him after he left his hen, flashed the fan, and he came running in full strut right to the gun.
Mr. Ronnie doubled up on two beautiful Gould’s turkeys, including a giant bird on the right in the second picture. Hunts like these are the ones we never forget.
