All 12 of our mission work trip crew have arrived home from Yucatan Peninsula Mission. They are waking up today in beds...not hammocks; to the familiar sounds of their homes...not to roosters and stray dogs occasionally barking, Mexican radios playing in the distance from various homes, the sound of people starting their own day in their dirt floor wooden huts and meager cynderblock dwellings, and motorcycles and strained engines passing by; to cool weather...not heat and high humidity that makes one sweat just sitting in a chair; to tap water they can brush their teeth with...not water from a new water purification plant across the street; to their standard breakfast...not a freshly prepared platter of some delicious egg surprise with heaping amounts of freshly cut watermelon, pineapple, papaya, muskmellons, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapes and mangos; to their own day's tasks...not that of working at a construction site to help continue to build onto the dream of the Instituto YPM so that youth and young adults of the area may have an education beyond primary school. Thier lives are back to their normal, but their 'being' is not who they were when they left home a little over a week ago. They are humbled, spiritually and mentally awake and aware (though mentally and physically tired), appreciative and compassionate in a refreshed way. Thanks again for all the prayers and support.
