Mision Cristiana Comedor de Linda

Mision Cristiana Comedor de Linda She partners with Los Cabos Missions For Christ which also runs other kitchens in the area. We know God has huge plans for this program!

Mission Statement
Leading people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by helping provide basic essentials to children and families in impoverished communities “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance” (Matthew 25:29 NLT)

After traveling around the world assisting impoverished children, Linda (Gonzales) Longacre founded Comedor De

Linda in the poorest area of Cabo San Lucas with the help of several pastors and Christian churches. Linda's kitchen is currently serving 40 meals a day, 3 days a week and on Sundays they have a church service, praise and worship, and classes for the kids. We would love to see this kitchen be used to it's full potential, which is to be able to serve around 150 meals per day! In order to do this we would need an additional $400 a month in commitments! If you feel led to help us provide meals and clothing to these kiddos and expand what God has started here, signing up is super easy! For the last hoorah to celebrate and thank Linda for all the wonderful work at her mission, the American volunteers took Linda out on a dinner cruise! We were greeted onboard with a choice of cocktails (soda for Linda) and then headed out for a great view of the Arch.

We started the evening by presenting Linda with a plaque to commemorate her years of service to the local children and families of Cabo and a mug with her logo. A surprise show from the whales came next, giving Linda their special send off! After that, a taco dinner with open bar and an amazing sunset. We closed the evening with dancing and Linda joined right in, showing us all up with her moves!

Lots of hugs and well wishes closed our evening. Linda, the kids and her “kitchen” (as we have lovingly referred to Mision Cristiana Comedor de Linda for the years we have volunteered) will be dearly missed and we wish her all the best in the next phase of her life!

God Bless you, Linda, we love you!

Mision Cristiano Comedor de Linda has permanently closed. I have, after much thought and prayer, to retire after 10 years as the head of the Ministry. I would like to thank everyone who has donated and participated in making the Ministry a success over the years. Thank You and God Bless. Erlinda Longacre

What a fun day at the kitchen and a special treat for the kids. I brought over 10 pounds of fresh Dorada (Mahi Mahi) caught by our friend Tom, that I had cleaned and portioned. Natalie and I battered it up and Scott fried it. Served along with a side of spaghetti (Linda’s idea) made a great lunch for the kids and boy did they love it, many came back for seconds and even thirds. Fish fries don’t usually happen at the kitchen, this may have been a first! Thanks everyone!

The adult volunteers all enjoyed some fish too!

Our Story

for more information or to donate please visit our web site at www.missioncomedor.com Linda (Gonzales) Longacre (Founder/Director of Mision Cristiano Comedor de Linda) was raised in the small mining town of Ajo Arizona. She married and raised her family, learning the values of the community. Linda was fortunate enough to also have traveled with her husband throughout the world to include Peru, Bolivia the South Sea Islands and the Mediterranean. She assisted the impoverished children during these travels and subsequently moved to Cabo San Lucas Mexico several years ago. It was there that she saw a need to provide food and clothing to the poorest residents in the Colonias of Cabo. Linda, with the aid of several Pastors and Christian Churches started her Ministry three years ago to address these issues. After years of preparation and perseverance Linda was recently ordained a Minister by The Missionary Church International (TMCI). She was also blessed to have a Christian follower of her Ministry recently donate land, which is going to be used to build a permanent kitchen and adequate room for Ministry Fellowship
