We visited Luna and her mama, Charlotte Mazur, yesterday. Luna ruptured a couple of her stitches and was struggling while waiting for the vet, so we brought a cone, fresh towels, training pads, gause, and adhesive bandages, donated by our good friend Brenda. The cone was a little small, but it worked for the time we needed it! Luna is taking a couple of more days at the vet to recover, before returning hOMe.
We also brought a big bag of hard food, and a case of wet food pouches from Sam's Club that we were able to purchase with funds from one of our monthly doners. Charlotte feeds a group of street dogs every day in her neighborhood, and she has 5 rescues of her own. Luna's surgery and recovery has been quite costly, so we wanted to help out by covering her street dog feedings for the next few weeks.
A big Poochas Gracias to our doners, as none of this would be possible without them! We accept donations of all kinds, including gently used and new pet supplies and toys, first aid supplies, old sheets and towels, training pads, cleaning supplies, collars, leashes and FOOD! Everyone meet Luna! She was rescued in Tulum by our new friend, Charlotte Mazur! Luna just had major surgery on her leg, and Charlotte was in need of a crate to help with her recovery. At Street Dog Strides, we know that 'It takes a Village' to rescue a dog, and thanks to our good friend Nancy Julien, we happened to have the perfect size crate to share! Nancy, this is Finley's starter crate! ❤️🐕Thank you for donating it once he outgrew it! It is serving as a comfortable, breathable nest for Luna to safely recover!
Tomorrow we will visit Luna and help Charlotte walk her other 4 rescues. We will also be picking up a donated crate from another new friend, Caro!

Buen Viaje, Aloka the Peace Dog 🐕 🐾 ❤️

Aloka is getting ready for another journey, but this time, his little paws are traveling with a very special purpose. 🐾🤎

Aloka will be joining Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra Tuệ Nhân, and the relief delegation of Walk for Peace, Huong Tu Loving Kindness Foundation, and Aloka Peace Foundation as we travel to Nepal to bring support and care to communities affected by the floods.

From a little stray who once wandered the roads of India, Aloka has traveled many miles beside the venerable monks on the path of peace. Now, those little paws are heading back across the world, this time to accompany a journey of compassion and relief.

We hope all of you will walk together with us in spirit, alongside Aloka and the entire delegation. Though we may be many miles apart, may our hearts travel together as we bring kindness, comfort, and loving care to the people and animals affected by the floods in Nepal.

Aloka is ready. Let’s walk together.🐾🌺

Sixty pounds of lazy seeks Furever hOMe!

This is Ben, and this is the extent of his afternoon activity! Ben likes meditation music and incense. It helps him relax, as he rotates between the sofa and his bed. He responds to anything happening in the kitchen, but not much else. At around 4pm, he starts rustling around for a walk. He likes to be home by 5pm for dinner, followed by Monkey Hour on the patio.

FOSTER or ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY with a special message from Tulum Mermaid, Carmen Adriana Mantione!

'Meet Canela!😍 She is the official street dog mascot of Edena by Tao. The community has been taking care of her for several years. She has been spayed and vaccinated. She was initially found with her mother, Chica by Maya Animal Alliance. Between them, they had 15 puppies which were rescued and have now all found homes. 😃

years ago leaving Canela alone here in Edena 😔

Canela is very shy but super friendly. She seemed very happy here in the complex with everyone feeding her and caring for her but recently I noticed that she was looking skinny and with a bloated belly. So I grabbed her and took her to the vet. The diagnosis is HEARTWORM.
I would like to finally get this girl off the street. The community here loves her, but it unfortunately isn’t enough to keep her healthy.
I am looking for a foster or permanent home for this girl.I will pay for all expenses until we get her a forever family.' 🙂

We are still searching for a furever home for Ben. He is a loyal and loving companion who will do best in a home with another dog. Ben also loves to look out on his surroundings from a patio or terrace. He likes a calm, relaxed enviornment with slow walks. He is accustomed to condo living.

Foster Opportunity!
