ACTION HOPE MALAWI PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL CONSULTATION ON THE ERADICATION OF CHILD MARRIAGE

Action Hope Malawi Executive Director, Sammy Aaron , participated in a National Consultation organized by the Malawi Law Commission at Capital Hotel in Lilongwe, focusing on the development of a comprehensive law aimed at eradicating child marriage in Malawi.

The consultation brought together stakeholders to examine existing legal and policy gaps, preventive measures, protection of children affected by child marriage, access to justice, prosecution mechanisms, and institutional responsibilities.

Action Hope Malawi recognizes that ending child marriage requires more than legislation. It demands effective law enforcement, community engagement, child protection systems, and collective responsibility to address the root causes of child marriage.

Through its commitment to promoting children's rights, gender equality, and community empowerment, Action Hope Malawi and Malawi Police Service remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that protect children from harmful practices and ensure that every child enjoys the right to education, protection, and a better future.

CHILD HEALTH CAMPAIGN | 21–25 SEPTEMBER 2026 💢

Protect your child’s health! During this campaign:

👉🏿Measles & Rubella vaccination: Children aged 9 months to 9 years
👉🏿Vitamin A supplementation: Children aged 6 months to 5 years

Caregivers and their children can also access these services at Action Hope Malawi offices, where health service providers will be available throughout the campaign.
