YONECO participated in the Third Regional Dialogue on Feminist Funding for Women's Movements in East and Southern Africa that was held from 25 to 27 May 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The dialogue was organised by UN Women East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) and the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women under the Advocacy, Coalition Building and Transformative Feminist Action to End Violence against Women (ACT) Programme.

The meeting brought together government representatives, women's rights organizations, feminist funders, UN agencies, and development partners committed to advancing gender equality and ending violence against women and girls.

The dialogue built on recommendations from previous regional engagements conducted in 2024 and 2025 and focused on addressing structural barriers that limit the sustainability, reach, and transformative impact of women's rights organizations.

Key discussions highlighted the need for increased investment in prevention of Gender-Based Violence ( ), adopting sustainable funding strategies, building partnerships among governments, donors and civil societies, and building capacities of grassroots women's rights organizations in their community work.

YONECO remains committed to contributing to regional and national efforts that promote gender justice, strengthen women's movements and advocate for sustainable financing.

Our team had a great interaction with students from various primary and secondary schools during the ongoing Malawi International Trade Fair 2026 in Blantyre.

We extend our appreciation to the organisers, the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), for facilitating student sessions that allowed us to reach over 3,000 learners with information and respond to their pressing questions on key development issues.
