Happy birthday leader

Happy birthday leader

Every year I let this day pass like any other day, but this morning I felt a small voice in my heart — a gentle reminder of how blessed I am to have life and good health.

As I thought about how to spend the day, I pictured the usual things: drinks with friends, classic HD photos, nice food, maybe even a trip to the lake. But none of it felt right. Instead, my mind went to the people lying in hospital beds, fighting for the very things I often take for granted.

Today, I will go to one of our district hospitals and spend an hour with the patients. The money I planned to use for celebrating myself, I will use to bring a little hope to them. Even if it’s small, I know it can still make someone feel seen, supported, and cared for.

That is how I want to celebrate my birthday — not with noise, but with compassion. Happy birthday to me. 🎉🌿

Teacher volunteers from Together for Change completed a four-day intensive training to master the Rural Scholars Online (RUSO) Learning Management System — equipping them with the practical skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality lessons across Malawi.

The sessions, held virtually via Google Meet, focused on effective platform use, digital teaching strategies, and student engagement. One of the trainees, Patrick Light, shared his experience, saying:
“The system is very easy to navigate — I’m excited to start teaching!”

With this dedicated team of educators now fully onboarded, we’re one step closer to making accessible, flexible education a reality for students nationwide.

Together for Change Civil Society Organization will today, 8th September 2025, commence a four-day online training program for its 15 volunteer secondary school teachers. The training is designed to equip the educators with practical skills to effectively navigate the newly introduced Rural Scholars Online (RUSO) Learning Management System, which will serve as the organization’s primary platform for delivering virtual lessons in the upcoming academic year.

This marks a significant transition from the previously used WhatsApp-based learning model to a more structured and professional LMS, aimed at enhancing the quality and accessibility of education for rural learners.

The training sessions will be conducted virtually via Google Meet, running each evening from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

The initiative is being supported through a portion of the MWK 1 million award received by Together for Change from the National Youth Council of Malawi at this year’s National Youth Summit, where the organization’s Team Lead was recognized for outstanding contributions to the education sector.

This milestone reflects Together for Change’s continued commitment to innovation and impact in education, particularly for underserved communities.
