A Self-Help Assistance Program - ASAP Malawi ASAP is a local NGO in Malawi, focusing on self-help initiatives primarily for rural marginalized women to increase their socio-economic rights in Malawi.

ASAP is a local NGO in Malawi, established in 2008. We are based in Blantyre and work in the following districts: Chikhwawa, Mwanza, Neno and Blantyre rural. Our work focuses on establishing self-help initiatives for mainly rural marginalized women. This is done through providing micro-finance opportunities through VSL-groups (Village Savings and Loans), small-scale business trainings, and advocac

y campaigns to improve women's rights and promote social and economic empowerment. Furthermore, environmental issues are central in the work of ASAP, and we try to incorporate a sustainable environmental friendly approach in all our work activities. One example is a project focusing on manufacturing fuel efficient stoves, which contributes to decrease firewood usage by more than 40 percent. It is cost and time efficient as well as lowers the burden of collecting firewood. You can read more about our different projects and how to get involved on our webpage: http://www.asapmw.org
