Sports boost inclusion and learning in education, especially for girls. Yet primary schools like Mzokoto and Lusimbo lack equipment, denying students these vital opportunities.

‎Life Concern has donated sports equipment to Mzokoto and Lusimbo schools: girls received full jersey kits and netballs, while boys received footballs to boost participation.

‎The donation is expected to help 976 students from both schools enjoy their right to play while improving their academic journey.

We had a successful Board Members Orientation and Governance Strengthening Workshop at K-View Hotel in Mzuzu, bringing together Board Members and Senior Management to strengthen institutional governance and leadership oversight.

The workshop provided an opportunity for the Board to deepen their understanding of governance roles and responsibilities while reflecting on ways to enhance the organisation’s systems, accountability, and strategic direction.

This activity forms part of LICO’s commitment to building strong and resilient organisational systems that support sustainable growth and effective service delivery to communities.

The initiative was supported through the Shift the Power – Civil Society Strengthening Fund under Tilitonse Foundation, Comic Relief and UK in Malawi

A year into the Civil Society Strengthening Fund (CSSF) – Shift the Power Program, championed by Tilitonse Foundation, partners have gathered at Sunbird Mzuzu Hotel for a learning, reflection, and way-forward session.

For Life Concern, this journey has led to strengthened institutional systems, improved branding, and strategic programme realignment.

Through Tilitonse’s support, we are growing stronger, more responsive, and better positioned to serve communities with impact.
