At We4Malawi, we believe one person truly can change a child’s future — and that person can be you.

While We4Malawi has successfully funded its fall “back to school” campaign, providing tuition for 21 secondary students, we are now turning our attention to building a preschool that will open the door to learning for generations of young children.

This Giving Tuesday, you can help We4Malawi establish a preschool for impoverished children in Liphava, Malawi. In rural communities like Liphava, poverty and child marriage often keep bright young minds out of the classroom. Early education is their best chance to change that result.

We’re close — very close. Our $40,000 campaign goal is down to just $14,300.

A matching grant of $80,000 —offered by anonymous donors — is secure if you help us close this gap. For every $1 you give, they will add $2, tripling the impactand helping us reach the $120,000 needed to complete construction.

We believe in the power of early childhood education. Give now, triple your donation, and provide Liphava’s youngest learners a head start!

Catching up on Yanjanani Maganga, a We4Malawi scholar from Senzani in Ntcheu who is in her first year studying for a Bsc in Gender Studies at the University of Malawi in Zomba. She did her high school at St. Micheals Girls Secondary School in Mangochi also under a full We4Malawi scholarship. When not busy with school stuff, she likes listening to gospel music, chatting with friends and playing football ⚽️⚽️😄

We took advantage of the long Eid Mubarak weekend to give out additional 116 solar powered torches to Standard 6 learners at Manjawira Primary School in Ntcheu to help the learners in their home studies at night and improve their performance as they edge towards Primary School Leaving Certificate exams in Standard 8. In October 2024, we gave the torches only to Standard 8 and 7 learners at the school. Just like in October 2024, we also delivered 50 packs of six sanitary pads in support of girl education at the school, not necessarily for Standard 6 learners.

Meet 19 year-old Olivia Banda who is a 2nd year student at University of Malawi in Zomba, reading for a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Cultural Studies. She was previously at Ntcheu Secondary School and has been on We4Malawi scholarship since Form 1. Her ultimate ambition is to study law and vows never to give up on this goal of hers. 'I'll complete my current degree and probably work in development communications for a few years. But I'll definitely come back here to study law," she says. She is grateful to We4Malawi for giving her an opportunity to look into her future with optimism. 'I nearly failed to start Form 1 at Ntcheu Secondary School because my mum had completely nothing. But God had an answer because We4Malawi came to my rescue a week after classes had started while I was still at home, not knowing what to do next," she said.
