Meet Nissah Mkandawire, our dedicated Health Nurse at Njira Impact, who is passionate about making healthcare accessible to young people and communities.

Through mobile clinics and her work at Bwanawe Kona Clinic, Nissah helps young people access Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services, health information, guidance, and other essential healthcare services.

Her commitment to community outreach and youth-friendly services is helping young people make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

MEET VANESSA NKHOMA — A BURSARY STUDENT MAKING HER MARK!

At just 17 years old, Vanessa Nkhoma has given us another reason to celebrate. After sitting for the 2026 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, Vanessa achieved an outstanding 11 points, making her one of the highest‑scoring students at Lilongwe Girls Secondary School.

This is what happens when young people are given the opportunity, support, and encouragement they need to pursue their education.

Her story inspires us to continue investing in young people and creating pathways to a brighter future.

The Nkhotakota District Executive Committee (DEC ) has approved the implementation of the Climate Adaptation and Resilience for Communities through Malawi Humanitarian NGO Consortium Project by Njira Impact in the district.

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the eight-month project will reach 15,000 people in Traditional Authorities (T/As) Kanyenda and Katimbira, strengthening communities' ability to anticipate, prepare for and respond to climate-related shocks.

The project will strengthen community-based early warning systems, improve access to timely climate information, support anticipatory action and strength disaster preparedness at community and district level.

Welcoming the project, Nkhotakota District Commissioner (DC) Ben Matengeni Tohno noted that it has come at the right time, particularly given the district's experience with recurrent floods and the need to strengthen early warning systems and anticipatory action to help communities prepare for potential climate-related shocks such as the forecasted El Nino.

The project is being implemented through a consortium led by Help Africa, with partners including , , the Children, , , , and Impact, with Njira Impact leading implementation in Nkhotakota district.

Meet Thokozani Kopa, 23, a mother of one and one of 24 young people belonging to the Titukulane Youth Farming Group at Mpamantha in Nkhotakota district.

Like many young entrepreneurs, Thokozani once struggled to grow her income due to limited access to capital.

Through the Village Savings and Loans (VSL) group championed by the club, she accessed a MK50,000 loan, which she used to start a small tomato business.
With determination, hard work and a commitment to growing her enterprise, Thokozani turned that modest investment into a thriving livelihood.

Today, she earns an impressive monthly profit of around MK200,000.
