an for a period of 5 years and the following are thematic areas: Food Security and Health, Disaster and Environment Management, Economic empowerment and Marketing, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and lastly Education and Learning. Over the past three years SPRODETA has been imlementing several community projects such as: Small pProducers, Agriculture and Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction targeting 5000 households in Mzimba district. The project was working with entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers in disaster prone areas in order to prepare, prevent and mitigate against the effect of disasters/hazards at community level. The other project was integrating simple water solutions into community managed disaster risk reduction whose aim was to provide water and promote organic farming to the communities affected by disasters. Integrating village savings and loan associations and education for the underprivileged pupils in rural communities project funded by Hope for A Child of United Kingdom looked at issues of economical empowerment for women, promotion of diversified agriculture, training on right based approach, strength based approach and training parents on rights of children to education. Currently SPRODETA has an ICS program being funded by Progressio. It also has a project funded by Hope For a Child called Improved Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Promotion for Children and Vulnerable Women
