As part of fulfilling its mission to feed, educate, and empower, Kwithu CBO donated learning and teaching materials worth MWK 1,600,000 to nine public primary schools in the Luwinga–Nkhorongo–Lupaso ward: Nkhorongo, Lupaso, Thandaza, Habitat, Area 1B, St. Augustine, St. Faustina, Viyere, and Foundation primary school.

This initiative comes in response to the growing gap in access to basic learning resources following the introduction of free education in public schools in Malawi, which has increased the responsibility on parents and teachers to provide essential materials.

Through this support, Kwithu CBO continues to stand with communities, ensuring that every child has a fair opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Schools are back on run and the kids have gone back but what keeps us at the CBO happy is knowing that we have sent them back with the necessary resources that we could manage to provide for them❤️!! With the help that we receive from our donors and some of you well wishers, we manage to put smiles on the children’s faces like this☺️✨ help us wish them all the best in their studies this term please!

Raising a child goes beyond provision! It requires guidance, discipline, and responsibility.

The growing concern of children engaging in harmful behaviors cannot be ignored; it calls for parents to take an active role in nurturing and shaping their path. As a CBO, we support and encourage collective action in guiding our children toward better choices.

Following a community meeting with our social welfare friends, the police, community policing team, parents and local leaders, it’s clear that the way forward lies in shared responsibility as a community.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that giving is not just an obligation but a response to the needs we see around us. For us at Kwithu CBO, “Give to Gain” is more than a theme — it’s a way of life. It means recognizing the needs within our communities and choosing to give support, empowerment, and opportunity where it matters most.

Our programs Director Wezzie reflects on how supporting women and investing in communities creates lasting change for everyone. Because when women rise, communities also rise.💜
