Apex Kwathu Group

09/08/2026

This week, our firstborn subsidiary Apex Kwathu Builders Ltd returned to Kazyolo Village to carry out routine maintenance on the very first borehole we ever drilled—handed over to the community on 3rd October 2019.

The old apron was demolished. A new, reinforced one was laid. Once the concrete has cured, the team will return to reinstall the handpump, and clean water will flow again.

Six years of uninterrupted service. That didn't happen by accident. It happened because from the beginning, we committed to a model that doesn't just drill and leave. We drill. We install. We return.

This is what building an ecosystem of dignity looks like. Not grand announcements, but quiet, consistent faithfulness to the communities we serve.

Proud of the Builders team. And proud of what this says about the kind of enterprises we are raising under this Group.

🌱 Sugarcane is now in the ground at Apex Kwathu Farms!

Today, the team planted 177 sugarcane stations at 2.5m by 2m spacing – with room for intercropping between rows. This is a long-term investment that will add diversity to the farm and contribute to sustainable production.

We are proud of the team for continuing to expand and diversify.

🌱 Sugarcane Is Now in the Ground!

Today, we reached another exciting milestone at Apex Kwathu Farms – we have planted sugarcane in our garden! 🎉

What We Planted:

📏 177 planting stations
📐 Spacing: 2.5m between rows and 2m between stations
🌱 3 pieces per station

Why This Spacing?

The 2.5m by 2m spacing gives our sugarcane plenty of room to grow strong and healthy. It also leaves space between rows for intercropping – meaning we will be able to plant other crops like vegetables or legumes alongside the sugarcane, making the most of our land.

A Long-Term Investment

Sugarcane takes time to mature – typically 12 to 18 months – but it is worth the wait. Once harvested, it will provide sweet rewards for our community and contribute to our mission of sustainable farming and community nutrition.

What's Next?

Now, we will water, monitor, and care for our sugarcane as it grows. In the coming months, we will also be planting companion crops in the spaces between rows – making our garden even more productive.

One step closer to year-round production. One more crop in the ground. 🌱💚

💧 Steady progress at our subsidiary, Apex Kwathu Farms

Testing a simple sprinkler irrigation system today – petrol engine, 1-inch pipe, and a vision for year-round production. This is how resilience is built: one small, working step at a time.

One side of the garden is already tilled. Beds start next week. Winter cropping is coming.

We are proud of the team for laying this foundation. Every pipe laid today brings us closer to a full irrigation system tomorrow.
