On 17th June 2026, under the YOU MATTER Students' Mental Health Project, we held an engaging discussion aimed at encouraging male students to normalize help-seeking behavior in the same way many female students do.

During the session, participants observed that female students are generally more willing to seek emotional support and share their challenges with friends, which often helps them find relief and cope with difficulties. In contrast, many male students tend to suppress their emotions due to fears of shame, judgment, or blame from their peers when discussing mental health struggles.

Several factors were identified as major contributors to mental health challenges among young men, including poverty, poor life choices, unrealistic ambitions, feelings of impostor syndrome, academic and social pressures, and relationship-related stress.

The discussion also addressed the growing misuse of sexual performance-enhancing drugs such as Vi**ra among young men. Participants expressed concern that pressure to prove masculinity or meet unrealistic expectations can lead some individuals to use such medications without proper medical guidance. The session emphasized the importance of seeking professional medical advice before using any medication and raising awareness about the potential health risks associated with misuse.

Male students, with support and encouragement from their female counterparts, were urged to embrace openness, seek help when facing emotional difficulties, and accept the realities of their situations. The discussion emphasized that seeking support is a sign of strength and that su***de should never be viewed as a solution to life's challenges.

The conversation took place at TopMax College in Chitakale, bringing together students committed to promoting mental health awareness and creating a supportive campus environment.

Trust and Popularity are very close neighbors, you can't be trusted if you are not popular.

Believing in yourself raises the bar until you achieve the goal.

Self assertiveness is the key to maintain consistency, to stay in the lane and to obtain the results.

The world watches at a distal distance.

Keep moving.

Men's Mental Health Awareness Month – June 2026

This June, we shine a light on an issue that often goes unnoticed: men's mental health.

Many men are taught to be strong, to hide their emotions, and to carry their burdens alone. But true strength is not found in suffering in silence—it is found in having the courage to speak up, ask for help, and share what you're going through.

If you're struggling, please remember: you are not alone, and your feelings are valid. Whether it's stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed, talking to someone can make a difference.

🗣️ Speak up.
🤝 Reach out.
💙 Check in on your friends, brothers, fathers, sons, and colleagues.
Healing begins with conversation.

Let's break the stigma surrounding men's mental health and create spaces where men feel safe to express themselves without fear of judgment.
Your mental health matters. Your voice matters. And most importantly, YOU matter.

Am I Okay?

When they check on us, we simply say,
"I'm okay, thanks. How about you?"
Not knowing that behind those words
Many are suffering in silence.

It is a common phrase we hear each day,
"I'm okay" has become a familiar title,
A mask stitched across our faces,
While hiding the storms within.

When they ask about our lives,
We kindly reply, "I'm okay,"
Yet we conceal the battles we fight,
For fear has built walls around our hearts,
And timidity has become our shadow.

People wound us day after day,
Yet we whisper, "I'm alright."
The world has become so modernized,
That screens now hide our emotions,
And our smiles are painted windows
Concealing broken rooms within.

We have learned to fake our wellness,
Afraid of being judged or exposed.
So we sincerely say, "I'm okay,"
Keeping conversations short and safe.
Meanwhile, silence becomes a prison without bars,
Holding captive the words we long to speak.

But what if we learned to tell the truth?
Opening our hearts to those we trust,
And laying down the masks we wear?
Perhaps healing would begin to grow.

For depression is real;
It is a thief that steals joy in the night,
A silent enemy that lingers unseen.
It eats away at the mind like termites,
Quietly destroying the house from within,
Chomwe chimadya mwa pansi pansi.

So when they ask, "Are you okay?"
May we find courage to be sincere,
For strength is not found in pretending,
But in speaking the truth and seeking help.
