Our effort goes beyond the leaners and teachers! We believe that building the capacity of key stakeholders is essential in improving education outcomes.

Join for Joy Malawi successfully trained 31 Primary Education Advisors and Inspectors in Dowa District through a two-day workshop on Playful Learning.

These key stakeholders play a vital role in supporting and strengthening the implementation of the program across schools in the District. They will also contribute to advancing government efforts, policies and the Education Act by promoting effective, leaner centered teaching approaches.

By equipping them with practical skills and knowledge, we are building a strong foundation for creating, engaging, inclusive and joyful learning environments for every child.

Together, weโ€™re shaping classrooms where learning is active, collaborative and inclusive!

Exciting News from Dowa District! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our two-week Kick-Off Training has officially wrapped up, with 60 teachers empowered with essential skills and knowledge in playful learning as a teaching method!

The energy throughout the training has been incredible โ€” teachers are inspired, motivated, and ready to transform their classrooms into think tanks where ideas, curiosity, and knowledge are shared through play.
Imagine learning spaces filled with creativity, collaboration, and joy!

This intensive two-week training has not only equipped teachers with practical tools, but also challenged them to become role models โ€” creating inclusive, positive, and engaging environments where every child feels seen, heard, and involved.

Most importantly, teachers are now better prepared to work hand in hand with their communities to improve the quality of education and ensure no child is left behind.

The journey doesnโ€™t end here โ€” this is just the beginning of meaningful change in our schools and communities in Dowa District! ๐ŸŒโœจ

๐ŸŽ‰ Kick-off in Dowa District! ๐ŸŽ‰

Teachers from Dowa were introduced to playful learning as a teaching methodology. The training focused on how to facilitate games and activities in their classrooms.

Through games, teachers explored practical ways to deliver subject-related lessons while also playfully addressing life skills and social themes.

The energy and creativity were inspiring. We canโ€™t wait to see these ideas come alive in classrooms!

Do you know that Play is helping learners stay in school?

Play is more than just fun, itโ€™s a powerful way children learn, grow and stay engaged in education.
According to the United Nations Childrenโ€™s Fund, play-based learning helps children develop critical skills such as problem-solving, creativity, communication, and emotional resilience.

When learning is joyful and interactive, learners are more motivated to attend school and actively participate in lessons.

Empowering Future Teachers Through Playful Learning!

Implementing Playful Learning at teachers college is a major step toward equipping students teachers with practical skills to deliver engaging lessons in the rural primary schools.

Join for Joy Malawi is excited about the 12 week pilot course at DAPP Teachers College, involving 136 student teachers.

The program equips future educators with playful teaching methods that make learning interactive, engaging while helping learners tackle real-life issues, build resilience, and navigate everyday challenges.

We look forward to seeing these future teachers transform classrooms and bring joyful, impactful learning to children across Malawi.

Join for Joy embarked on an exciting journey to digitize our game manuals to strengthen Playful Education in schools.

Through this initiative, teachers will be able to easily access and understand how to lead and deliver engaging lessons playfully as a methodology. To ensure the platform truly meets the needs of educators, our team recently shared a prototype of digital platform with teachers, giving them an opportunity to explore how it works and provide valuable feedback before the final App is developed.

Their insights will help shape a user-friendly tool that empowers teachers to confidently facilitate playful learning and improve classroom experiences for learners.

Digital innovation is opening new doors for education, and weโ€™re proud to take this step together with teachers as partners in the journey.

The team visited Angelina Giftโ€™s home through our Playful Education Program to appreciate the amazing support from her parents and guardians. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’›

Their encouragement plays a big role in helping Angelina stay in school and believe in her future. We also discussed how we can continue working together to support her education.

At Join for Joy, we believe in supporting one child at a time and one home visit matters because every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive.
