Village Foundations

Village foundations has been selected by the big give project to receive match funding, provided by the people's postcode lottery.
As part of our push to finish the dispensary building (hospital) and upgrade the nursery, we have been selected to receive match funding up to £6,000!
From Monday June 22nd for one week only, for every £1 donated to village foundations (using the link provided), the people's postcode lottery will also donate £1; for every £5 given, VF receives £10; For every £50 given, VF receives £100 and so on.
In this way, VF could receive up to an amazing £12,000!
This is a fantastic opportunity to raise the vital funds needed to finish the building work, upgrade the nursery, and purchase vital medicines and medical supplies to keep our services running and the project's moving forward.

This is 4 year old Grace Phiri. Grace lives with her mother and grandmother in the remote village of Nthunya. She has cerebral palsy and until now has been unable to attend nursery school because she can't sit unaided. Thanks to the generosity of Blantyre businessman Earnings Daudi; who bought this wheelchair, she will now be able to attend nursery.
We would like to make foam supports to aid her sitting balance. If there are any physiotherapists reading the post that might be able to advise us please get in touch.

For the last month, VF have sponsored Christmas Macford to spend a month in Blantyre, engaging in a training programme with Mathews Shaba Mpofu, a qualified, experienced trainer associated with anamed.org.
Christmas has been learning permaculture techniques, water harvesting, herbal soap making, composting and many other useful skills that will be useful when implemented on the VF land, around our clinic and nursery. The soap can be used for treating skin infections such as ring worms, scabies, eczema's, and wounds, with artemisia's antiparasitic qualities useful against malaria and bilharzia.
We look forward to seeing some interesting developments on our land, including growing a variety of different plants and trees 🌱🌿🌳
