We are looking for young creatives, storytellers, artists, gamers, designers, and aspiring developers ready to help build Malawi’s first commercial video game: 𝗞𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘂 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀 [kwathufarms.com].

This is a 12-week immersive fellowship focused on:

✨ Storytelling & Worldbuilding
✨ Unreal Engine & Interactive Media
✨ Simulation & Digital Creativity
✨ Real production experience

The Kwathu Kollective is launching a new opportunity for young creatives, technologists, storytellers, artists, and aspiring developers across Malawi to help build the country’s first commercial video game.

Over the past few months, students from the Malawi University of Science and Technology (Ndata) [MUST] working with the Kwathu Kollective [kwathu.org] in the Mangochi District have been developing agricultural technology systems, including AI-assisted crop detection and farming operations planning tools.

As part of this work, they wish to better understand how farmers are actually making decisions on the ground today, rather than building purely from assumptions.

The student team has launched a baseline study focused on farming operations, decision-making, and agricultural technology adoption.

If you are involved in farming, or know farming households, we would deeply appreciate your participation and support in sharing the survey within your networks.

We are especially hoping to gather diverse insights from across multiple African countries so the solutions being developed can become more continentally relevant.
