Youth participation in developmental initiatives is a human rights issues. It is more serious than just asking youths for their ideas and views or just including statistic in reports let alone just including them in developmental activities.
In it's true sense, it is about listening to them, giving them space, taking them seriously and turning their ideas and suggestions into reality. On top of that, it is about providing them with ability to influence the things that affect them and at the same time helping adults understand children's issues through their lens.
With this background, YAO strives to empower youths by increasing their knowledge, skills and learning opportunities with the aim of establishing a wide based community movement which encourages the positive involvement of young people in solving issues which affect them and treating them as resources not as problems.
