The walls are up at Gavala Primary School. Before the rains, let’s finish the roof. ☔

Timber, nails, iron sheets, and a few bags of cement stand between these children and their first real classroom.

We are looking for K2,000,000.00 (1,000USD) to make this happen. Every contribution brings us closer to letting the children learn in safety and dignity. Donation link: https://africagiving.org/organisations/320

Together, we can make it happen. 💚

Support Gavala Primary School Class Block Project! 🏫✨

At Gavala Primary School, our learners have been studying in grass-thatched classrooms. Thanks to community effort, the new classroom block walls are now complete — but we still need help to finish the work!

We’re now seeking support to complete:
✅ Roofing
✅ Flooring
✅ Plastering
✅ Painting

Your contribution — whether in materials, funds, or volunteer work — will help us give our children a safe and comfortable learning environment. Every little bit brings us closer to completing this classroom and giving our learners the bright future they deserve. 🌟

If you or your organization would like to help, please reach out to us today. Together, we can make education better for our children at Gavala Primary School! ❤️

Friday Reflections | Harvest of Hope in Action

Date: October 24, 2025

This week has been one of impact and inspiration for all of us at Rise for Phoka. 💚

1. A Harvest of Hope - Our Fish Pond Success
We successfully harvested fish from our demonstration farm!
Each fish sold carries a story, a vulnerable child who will now stay in school, an elderly woman who will afford her medicine, and fuel in our motorbike that helps us reach more homes for our elderly companionship visits. This is more than a harvest - it’s hope, shared and multiplied.

2. Sustaining the Farm - Replanting Maize
Our maize field continues to thrive. We took time this week to replant in the spaces that didn’t germinate to ensure no spot is wasted. Every seed we nurture strengthens our goal of sustainability and food security for the community. 🌾

3. Community Empowerment - Supporting Gavala’s School Construction

The people of Gavala have united to build a classroom block for their children, transforming their dream into brick and mortar. As Rise for Phoka, we are walking alongside them, helping to mobilize resources and ensuring this school becomes a reality. Together, we’re building not just classrooms, but futures. 📚

As we close the week, we celebrate these efforts as part of our October Campaign: Harvest of Hope - a month dedicated to food security, women, and the elderly.

Every action, no matter how small, brings us closer to a community that thrives together.

SUCCESSFUL MARKET CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN | GLOBAL DAYS OF ACTION 2025

Theme: Fund the Future, Not the Crisis

We’re excited to share that our Market Clean-Up Campaign at Livingstonia Market was a great success!

As part of the Global Days of Action, Rise for Phoka joined people across Africa and beyond in calling for leaders and communities to invest in the future - in people, the planet, and sustainable development not in crises and destruction.

Community members, youth volunteers, and local leaders came together to sweep, slash, and collect waste, while also engaging in a health talk on hygiene and environmental care. The energy, teamwork, and unity shown were truly inspiring!

“We are proud of what we achieved together today. Clean environments lead to healthy lives and thriving markets this is what it means to fund the future,” said Kondwani Msyalie, Founder of Rise for Phoka.

This campaign is a reminder that local action is powerful. Every broom, every shovel, and every person who showed up helped make Livingstonia cleaner and greener - setting an example for other communities to follow.

A huge thank you to all participants, partners, and supporters including our sponsors - Africans Rising.. partners - EMASO, PH Society and everyone who continues to believe in community-led change.

Together, we are funding the future, not the crisis.
