We are holding an internal validation workshop to review our study on farmersโ€™ Awareness and Use of the Seed Pack Scratch Card Technology.

We have shared preliminary findings of the study, which have sparked great discussions. We are joined by key stakeholders from the seed industry that include the Seed Traders Association, Seed Services Unit, Department of Agriculture Research, and TRACTION.

The study was necessitated by the continued proliferation of fake seed on the market despite the introduction of the Seed Pack Scratch Card technology that was intended to mitigate against the same.

The workshop is already revealing key issues that will need a wider engagement with other stakeholders in the seed sector.

Poor access to profitable markets has been among the significant barriers to most farmers in Africa. High Transactional Costs, Low productivity, Information Asymmetry, Prohibitive Policy and Regulatory Instruments, and Structural market failures limit farmers' participation and integration in the more profitable value chains. We invite you to this ground-breaking webinar by AGRA-Sustainably Growing Africaโ€™s Food Systems. to share insights and propose practical solutions in this critical challenge of the African Food Systems

Farmers work hard to produce food, yet policies too often fall short at the market level.

This Thursday, weโ€™re convening a focused dialogue on bridging the market-to-farmer disconnect and strengthening how policies respond to real farmer and market realities.

Be part of the conversation shaping more responsive, market-aligned agricultural systems.

Malawi's soil health is deteriorating due to unsustainable farming, deforestation, and extreme weather. This crisis threatens to deepen food insecurity and challenges livelihoods of over 3 million farmers in Malawi.

Solutions must therefore be farmer-led and farmer-centric. In this discussion, our CEO, Jacob Christopher Nyirongo and Professor Ken Giller of Wageningen University explore the daily realities farmers face when making decisions about soil health and farm inputs.
