In Malawi, where only 23% of the population has access to electricity, clean and affordable lighting is a daily challenge especially for low-income and rural households. At CEDEMA, weโ€™re proud to promote practical solar solutions that transform lives.

Sunking Pico Plus โ€“ A reliable solar lantern offering up to 72 hours of light on a single charge. Itโ€™s portable, durable, and perfect for students, families, and anyone needing safe, bright light without the cost of candles or kerosene.

Sunking Boom โ€“ More than just a lantern! It combines powerful solar lighting with Bluetooth speakers and phone charging, making it ideal for both home use and small businesses. Enjoy light, music, and connectivity...all powered by the sun.

Together, these tools are helping Malawians light up their homes, stay safe, study longer, and connect more without harming the environment.

Solar is not just a product...itโ€™s power, dignity, and hope.

On March 21, 2025, that happens to be International Forests Day, CEDEMA had the privilege of attending a Knowledge Sharing Workshop in Ekwendeni (Mzuzu) facilitated by Dr. Emilie Vansant and Dr. Laura Vang Rasmussen of University of Copenhagen under the theme "Tree Planting for Better Nutrition." We explored how trees go beyond carbon sequestration and play a crucial role in improving food security and enhancing diets. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŠ

We also explored nutrition-oriented tree planting such as growing fruit trees and indigenous plants that provide communities with a rich source of essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. These trees not only nourish the body but also restore ecosystems, promote climate resilience, and ensure a sustainable future.

Letโ€™s plant trees that feed both the planet and our communities for healthier diets and a greener world! ๐ŸŒEuropean UnionnEuropean Research CouncilnKรธbenhavns Universitet - University of CopenhagenaPELUM MalawilMinistry of Natural Resources and Climate Change - MalawilLilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural ResourcesrcesrcesyondCarbon
