Malawi is ready

Ahead of hosting this July, Malawi has been laying the groundwork for years and the results are clear.

The government is delivering foundational learning at scale through:

➗ A reformed national mathematics curriculum reaching all schools, with evidence showing significant learning gains, supported by FCDO. This is a national system transforming education.

🎯 Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) — a targeted remediation approach government pilot funded by FCDO, that meets children where they are, grouping learners by ability rather than age so no child is left behind.

Malawi knows what it takes to improve learning outcomes and continues to learn how to improve, and that’s why Lilongwe is the right place for Africa’s most important education conversation.

Day of the African Child 2026

Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa

No child should miss school because of dirty water or inaccessible toilets.
For learners with disabilities, these basics make the difference between staying home and showing up.

Clean water. Safe toilets. Dignity for all.

Let’s make WASH a reality for every child.

See the Ability, Not the Disability.

Day of the African Child.

Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa

Water, sanitation, and hygiene aren’t extras. They’re basic to health, dignity, and learning.

For children with intellectual and learning disabilities, access to clean water and safe sanitation is even more critical. Without it, school becomes harder, health risks rise, and independence suffers. A child who is sick, uncomfortable, or ashamed cannot focus on learning or playing.

At Able Foundation, we believe every child deserves an environment where they can be clean, safe, and free to learn. That starts with WASH for all.

This Day of the African Child, let’s push for:
-Clean water in schools and communities
-Accessible toilets for children of all abilities
-Hygiene education that reaches every learner, including those with disabilities

When we get WASH right, we unlock health, confidence, and the ability to learn.

See the Ability, Not the Disability.
Unlocking Ability. Inspiring Possibility.

Education is not about learning facts. It’s about training the mind.

That changes everything for learners with intellectual disabilities.

If education means memorizing and moving fast, many get left behind.
But if education means training how to think, solve problems, communicate, and make choices… then every mind can grow.

At Able Foundation, this is how we work:

- We focus on skills for life, not just facts for exams.
Managing money, following routines, communicating needs, staying safe. These are what build independence.

- We meet learners where they are.
Some learn best through visuals, movement, or repetition. We build pathways that fit their brain, not the other way around.

- We train thinking, not speed.
It’s okay if it takes longer. What matters is that the mind gets stronger, more confident, and more capable over time.

A trained mind can adapt, ask for help, and keep learning long after school ends.
That’s real education. And it’s for everyone.

See the Ability, Not the Disability.
Unlocking Ability. Inspiring Possibility.
