Our reigning Miss Tourism Malawi 2026, Maureen Zimba, continues to demonstrate that pageantry is more than beauty and elegance. It is a platform for leadership, advocacy and meaningful community impact.

On Saturday, Maureen had the honour of serving as the Official Host of Value Addition on Youth (VAY 2026), held at the National Library, Pabwalo Multipurpose Room, in Lilongwe.

Under the inspiring theme “Capacity Building: Transforming Potential into Action,” the event brought together ambitious young entrepreneurs, CEOs, founders and emerging leaders for an enriching experience centred on personal growth, leadership and youth empowerment.

As the Founder of Initiative Unstoppable Me, Maureen remains passionate about advocating for Quality Education, Mental and Menstrual Health, and Environmental Sustainability. Her participation in VAY 2026 further reflects her dedication to inspiring young people to recognise their potential and transform their ambitions into meaningful action.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mwambe Agency, the event organisers, for entrusting Maureen with this important role. Special recognition also goes to the sponsors Goldrich, Old Mutual and YAZA, the distinguished speakers and every young person who contributed to the success of this initiative.

👑💙 OFFICIAL APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT | MISS CULTURE MALAWI

Miss Culture Malawi, under the Lush Africa Foundation, is delighted to officially welcome Ms Laurette Kgomotso Nkangama to our Management Team as the newly appointed Contestant Development & Community Engagement Manager.

Having grown up in South Africa, Ms Nkangama brings a multicultural perspective, a passion for education and valuable professional experience to our organisation.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and has a professional background in Early Childhood Development, teaching, administration and marketing. Her experience working within the education sector reflects her commitment to nurturing potential, encouraging personal growth and empowering young people.

In her new role, Ms Nkangama will oversee and coordinate initiatives focused on contestant development, personal growth, leadership, educational programmes, welfare and community engagement. She will also work closely with our titleholders to strengthen their social-impact projects and community outreach activities.

At Miss Culture Malawi, we believe that the crown is not merely a symbol of beauty, but a platform for education, cultural appreciation, leadership and meaningful social change.

We are confident that Ms Nkangama’s knowledge, dedication and passion for youth development will contribute significantly to our mission of empowering the next generation of young Malawian women.
