We are honoured to have been among the first fellows of the Women and Youth in Democracy (WYDE) Accountability Hubs, where we implemented our project, Empowering Mzuzu Youth in Political Leadership. We are excited that our story has now been featured by the Kofi Annan Foundation.

WYDE Accountability Hubs empowers young leaders across Africa to promote democratic accountability, civic participation, and inclusive governance through mentorship, training, and project support.

The programme is implemented by the Kofi Annan Foundation, Oslo Center, and Westminster Foundation for Democracy, with support from the European Union through the WYDE Initiative.

Together, we are building a new generation of young political leaders for Malawi.

Our Executive Director, Raymundo Chifundo Magangani was honoured to be invited to Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, a state-owned television station, to discuss Youth and Leadership.

He also talked about our digital innovation, Ndale M'manja, which was supported by the Digital Democracy Initiative, Digital Action Lab, and CIVICUS. We highlighted the impact it’s had so far, and how we envision the future.

The message we left for young people out there is to be intentional. Know what you want, how you want it, and when you want it.

In the 2025 elections, we encouraged young people to go out and vote through our campaign, Dolo Amavota Mesa?

Malawi's population is made up of approximately 60–70% young people. While we want young people to participate in voting, we also believe they have the potential to be voted into leadership positions and become the leaders who shape our nation's future.

Our core mission is to empower youth to become political leaders within their respective parties and drive positive change in their communities and the nation.
