Triumphant Youth Organisation was pleased to attend the GSMA Digital Africa Summit Malawi held in Lilongwe.

The summit provided an important platform for government, regulators, telecom industry leaders and other stakeholders to engage on how Malawi can accelerate its digital transformation and build a more inclusive digital economy.

We were particularly inspired by discussions around digital inclusion, connectivity, investment, policy reform and innovation—issues that are critical to ensuring that young people are not only consumers of digital technology but also active participants in Malawi’s digital future.

The launch of GSMA’s report, Driving Digital Transformation of the Economy in Malawi, also highlighted the enormous opportunities that exist to expand digital adoption and unlock economic opportunities through technology.

At Triumphant Youth Organisation, we believe that empowering young people with digital skills, access and opportunities is essential for building a prosperous and digitally connected Malawi.

We look forward to contributing to conversations and initiatives that place youth at the centre of Malawi’s digital transformation. 🇲🇼💻🌍

“Graduate ali pa den kumangokhala… nde life ya bwanji imeneyo?”

These words from Hon. Ben Malunga Phiri, MP, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, during the 2026 Malawi National Youth Summit, have sparked an important conversation about the future of young people.

His message was clear: young people must move beyond waiting for opportunities and start becoming part of creating them. With resources such as the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), there is potential to support local businesses, community projects and initiatives that can create jobs and stimulate economic growth.

But government support alone cannot transform our communities. Young people must be awake, innovative and ready to take action.

Let us stop waiting for politicians to “give us” everything. Let us ask ourselves: What can I create? What can I build? What problem can I solve?

The future will not change if we remain spectators. We must participate, engage and take action.

Day 1 | 2026 Malawi National Youth Summit 🇲🇼

The 2026 Malawi National Youth Summit is officially underway at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC), Lilongwe, bringing together young people, organisations and key stakeholders to reflect on progress and discuss the future of youth development in Malawi.

Representing Triumphant Youth Organisation (TYO), we are proud to be part of this important conversation. As an organisation committed to empowering young people through leadership, education, entrepreneurship, innovation and meaningful participation, we believe that young people must not only be included in conversations about Malawi’s future — we must be active drivers of that future. ✊🏾🇲🇼

Under the theme “Accelerating Progress: Reflecting on Impact, Expanding Prospects for Youth Development in Malawi,” Day 1 is bringing powerful conversations around economic opportunities, leadership, innovation, climate action, entrepreneurship and youth participation.

We are proud to share highlights from our recent International Youth Day engagement, where young people were encouraged to take an active role in building a sustainable, inclusive and prosperous Malawi.

Speaking during the event, our Founder and CEO, Promise Simwaka, emphasised that youth empowerment is key to Malawi’s development. He also highlighted our initiatives, including the Tili Nanu Trust Initiative, which supports vulnerable learners, and the Men of Impact Initiative, which empowers young people across the country.

We also appreciate the valuable contributions from Lughano Mwalyambire, Founder and Communications & Operations Officer at GreenMinds, who challenged young people to take action on climate change, and Lexa Luwaniwa, Founder of the Art of Her Collective, who encouraged youth to embrace networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration.

As Triumphant Youth Organisation, we remain committed to empowering young people, supporting vulnerable communities and creating opportunities for youth to actively contribute to building a better Malawi. 🇲🇼
