Unaffordable health costs? We're tired and sick of it!
At the African Novice Nurses and Students Initiative (ANNSI), we recognize that financial barriers remain one of the most significant challenges to achieving true health equity. When the cost of care prevents individuals and families from seeking timely treatment, it undermines the well-being of our entire society.
As future nursing leaders, we are committed to being part of the solution. We believe that health is a fundamental human right and that financial hardship should never be a consequence of accessing essential care.
Our role is clear:
• To advocate for sustainable health financing models that protect individuals from catastrophic out-of-pocket expenses.
• To excel in preventive and primary care, reducing the long-term burden of disease and cost.
• To serve our communities with compassion, ensuring care is always delivered with dignity and respect.
On this UHC Day, we reaffirm our dedication to building resilient, inclusive, and affordable health systems across Africa. We stand ready to collaborate with governments, communities, and all stakeholders to make the vision of Health for All a lived reality.
