As we continue commemorating the International Day of Play πŸŽ‰πŸŒ, peep our BEFIT Program Manager playing fish-fish with Standard 2 learners at St. Francis Catholic Primary School in Machinga District.

Some of us vividly remember the songs we used to sing during our childhood when playing fish fish 🐟🎢 or any other games, songs that continue to be enjoyed by this generation during their play time.

For instance, β€œUlula Za ku Msika....Ulula Za Ku Msika........One Tomato....Two Anyezi....” πŸ…πŸ§…πŸŽ€

What childhood song do you remember from your play time? 😊🎈. Play is surely the right of every child and let us continue to promote and protect it.

🌱🌍 Happy World Environment Day! 🌍🌱
At Edukans Malawi, we are empowering learners to become environmental champions through tree planting and other green initiatives across our projects. We are nurturing a generation that cares for the planet and is taking meaningful action for a greener, more sustainable future. πŸŒ³πŸ’š

As Robert Swan wisely said:
"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it."

The truth is, no one else is coming to save our planet. It is our shared responsibility. Every tree planted, every sustainable choice made and every action taken today brings us closer to a healthier Earth tomorrow. Edukans Edukans Kenya

They say β€œwhat the eyes have seen is not easily forgotten.” To strengthen the implementation of the Green Star School Project, Headteachers and the PEAs from 29 schools participated in a learning visit to Chikowa Primary School in Salima District, one of the project's model schools.

The visit provided a firsthand look at how classroom lessons are being effectively integrated with garden-based learning, creating practical and engaging educational experiences for learners.

Inspired by what they saw, teachers left with new ideas and a renewed commitment to bringing similar practices to their own schools.

πŸŽ₯ Watch the video and hear what they had to say about their experience.

Last week was both productive and inspiring for the Green Star School Project in Salima District. The project, which targets 30 schools β€” including 5 model schools and 25 satellite schools aims to integrate green education into the teaching and learning process.

The week was filled with meaningful engagement and knowledge sharing among teachers and schools. The 5 model schools shared valuable lessons and experiences on how they have been successfully implementing green education activities within their schools.

A key highlight was the learning visit to Chikowa Primary School, one of the model schools, where participants had the opportunity to gain practical experience and observe firsthand how green education is being integrated into classroom lessons and daily school activities.

The visit provided inspiration, strengthened collaboration among schools and reinforced the importance of equipping learners with environmental knowledge and sustainable practices.

Below are some highlights captured during the activities.
