This week, we are conducting Comcare and OLA refresher orientation sessions for District Implementation Teams (DITs) and Zonal Implementation Teams (ZITs).

As we are transitioning the Building Education Foundations Through Innovation and Technology (BEFIT) program, a government-owned and led initiative , DITs and ZITs will be at the centre of monitoring and supervising implementation in schools. The orientation is equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills to conduct effective school visits, understand what to look for,and correctly use the required monitoring forms and tools.

The aim is to ensure a smooth transition, strengthen their capacity and sustain effective project implementation in schools as BEFIT continues to support foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

📍 LIVE FROM SALIMA | BEFIT QUARTERLY REVIEW MEETING

The Edukans Malawi team is currently convened in Salima for the BEFIT Quarterly Review Meeting.

Our field and central office staff have come together to reflect on achievements, share lessons from the ground and strategize for the next phase as we prepare to transition 103 schools to the Government under the Building Education Foundations through Innovation & Technology (BEFIT) Program.

It is inspiring to see the passion and commitment towards transforming foundational learning for standard 1-4 learners in Malawi.

We Are Live at NGO Day 2026!

Today, Edukans Malawi is at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe joining Government, fellow NGOs, development partners and other stakeholders for NGO Day 2026.

This year's theme, “Doing More with Less: Partnerships, Innovation and Efficiency for Inclusive Development," is at the heart of what we believe in. It is a call to work smarter, work together and make every resource count for the communities we serve.

At Edukans, we believe education is the greatest equalizer. We are here to share how we are Unleashing the Power of Education to create lasting change for children, youth and communities across Malawi.

They say failing to prepare is preparing to fail. So today, we chose to prepare to succeed! 💪 As we get ready for school opening, our schools are alive with energy. Teams are busy cleaning and setting up all BEFIT equipment, making sure every tablet, every device and every classroom is ready for our learners who return tomorrow.

This week, we supported the delivery of a Training of Trainers (TOT) on the BEFIT Program alongside the Zonal Implementation Teams and the District implementation Team we work with.

The training was designed to equip participants with deeper knowledge, practical skills and the confidence they need to go back and train teachers in their zones. When teachers are well-prepared, learners benefit directly and that’s how BEFIT succeeds in classrooms.
