Did You Know? Lung Rehabilitation Can Improve Life After TB

While many people recover from TB after completing treatment, some continue to experience challenges such as shortness of breath, fatigue, reduced physical activity, and decreased lung function.

Lung rehabilitation exercises can help improve breathing, strengthen the lungs, increase physical endurance, and enhance overall quality of life after TB treatment.

Simple activities such as walking, deep breathing exercises, stretching, and other guided physical exercises can support recovery and help individuals regain confidence in their daily activities.

At Paradiso TB Patients Trust, we recognize the importance of supporting people throughout their recovery journey and promoting interventions that improve long-term health and well-being.Recovery does not end when treatment ends.

🤔 Could It Be TB? Know the Signs.

Tuberculosis (TB) is preventable, treatable, and curable, but early diagnosis is key.

If you or someone you know is experiencing any of the following symptoms, it may be time to seek medical attention:

✔ A persistent cough lasting two weeks or more
✔ Night sweats
✔ Unexplained weight loss
✔ Fever
✔ Chest pain

Don't ignore the signs. Early screening and treatment can save lives and help stop the spread of TB in our communities.

Visit your nearest health facility for TB screening and treatment services.

Early diagnosis. Early treatment. Better outcomes.

Strong Governance, Stronger Impact

Behind every successful organization is a dedicated team providing strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability.

At Paradiso TB Patients Trust, our Board of Trustees plays a critical role in guiding the organization's vision, strengthening governance systems, and ensuring that our programmes continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by TB and other health challenges.

Through regular meetings and active engagement, the Board provides oversight on organizational performance, strategic priorities, and resource stewardship, helping to ensure that the organization remains responsive, transparent, and focused on its mission.

We are proud of the commitment and leadership demonstrated by our Board members as they work alongside the Secretariat to advance community health and contribute to the fight against TB in Malawi.

Together, we are building a stronger organization and healthier communities.

🌍 Day of the African Child 2026

Today, Paradiso TB Patients Trust joins the rest of Africa in commemorating the Day of the African Child under the theme:

"Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa."

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and healthy environment. Access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and good hygiene practices is fundamental to protecting children from disease, promoting their well-being, and safeguarding their future.

Despite progress made across the continent, many children still face challenges in accessing these basic services. Investing in water, sanitation, hygiene, healthcare, and health education is essential to ensuring that no child is left behind.

As an organization committed to improving community health, Paradiso TB Patients Trust recognizes that healthy environments are critical in preventing the spread of infectious diseases and improving health outcomes for children and their families. Through community engagement, health education, and support for early disease detection and care, we continue to contribute to healthier and more resilient communities.

On this Day of the African Child, let us reaffirm our collective responsibility to create a future where every child has access to the services and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

Every child deserves a healthy start. Every child deserves a brighter future.

Together we can.

📍 Bringing TB Services Closer to Communities

Through the GC7 TB/HIV Epidemic Control Project, Paradiso TB Patients Trust is strengthening community-led efforts to find missing TB cases by providing ongoing mentorship to community volunteers and supporting door-to-door TB screening activities.

The mentorship enables volunteers to enhance their skills in TB symptom screening, health education, and referral of presumptive TB cases for further investigation. Through regular household visits, volunteers are able to identify individuals with TB symptoms early and link them to health facilities for diagnosis and treatment.

This approach is helping to improve early TB detection, increase access to services, and reduce delays in diagnosis, particularly among hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations.

Together, we are advancing the fight against TB and contributing to healthier communities across Malawi.

Today, we proudly joined the commemoration of World TB Day at Mitundu Primary School Ground under the theme: “Unite to End TB” and “Leprosy is curable; the real challenge is stigma.”

The event was a strong reminder that ending TB requires collective action, community engagement, and breaking the stigma that continues to hinder progress.

We are especially delighted to share that all the award-winning Community Sputum Collection Points (CSCPs) recognized today are managed by Paradiso TB Patients Trust, under World Vision International, an achievement that reflects the dedication and hard work of our teams on the ground.

Congratulations to: Mayiwaza CSCP (Dedza) for Position 1 on Best Performing SCP, Congratulations Agripa SCP (Mzimba) for Position 2 of best performing CSCP and lastly congratulations Area 36 CSCP (Lilongwe) for Position 3 of best performing CSCP.

Your commitment to improving TB detection and care in our communities is truly commendable. You are playing a vital role in bringing services closer to the people and saving lives.

As we mark this important day, let us continue to stand together, raise awareness, fight stigma, and work tirelessly towards a TB-free Malawi.

❤️ Caring Beyond TB: Because Our Elders Matter

At Paradiso TB Patients Trust, care goes beyond treatment. The volunteers reached out to elderly members of the community, sharing soap and food items as a simple but meaningful act of love.

Our volunteers don’t only walk with people affected by TB , they also stand with our elders, who remain at the heart of our communities.

It’s been a while since our last update, but on the ground, the work has never stopped.

At Paradiso TB Patients Trust, we continue to work hand in hand with communities across Malawi to prevent and respond to TB, HIV, and post-TB challenges. Through community outreach, case identification, referrals, advocacy, and partnerships, we remain committed to ensuring that the most vulnerable are seen, heard, and supported.

Our work is powered by the resilience of the communities we serve, the dedication of our volunteers and field teams, and the continued support of our partners.

We look forward to sharing more updates, stories from the field, and impact as we reconnect and engage more consistently.

Thank you for staying with us, wishing you a prosperous 2026💙
