Hie Ladies,
So today 25th July is world IVF day.How exciting?.
IVF is the best solution to women struggling to conceive,it is more effective and gives hope to those feeling hopeless.Unfortunately, Malawi has no IVF service yet and it is an expensive service. But we can support each other to to know which country and hospital has the best IVF and maybe even set up a funding mechanism to make the service available to women in Malawi. Let’s continue to share ideas and talk.
Here is what you need to know about IVF.
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) involves a series of steps: ovarian stimulation to produce multiple eggs, monitoring of egg development via blood tests and ultrasound, surgical retrieval of mature eggs, collection of s***m, fertilization of eggs in a lab dish, embryo culture to monitor development, transfer of selected embryos into the uterus, support of the uterine lining with hormones, a pregnancy test to confirm success, and ongoing prenatal care upon pregnancy confirmation. Success rates vary and multiple cycles may be needed for pregnancy.
