Healthwise Organization joins the 2026 EMEA in London

As many nonprofit organizations are tackling complex community challenges in a rapidly changing world, the leadership development opportunities that equip leaders with innovative, future-focused skills remain limited.

To address this gap, Healthwise Organization Founder and Executive Director, Tendai Chidzero, is participating in the 2026 American Express Leadership Academy (EMEA) taking place in London, United Kingdom, from 22nd to 26th June 2026.

The Academy, designed and delivered by Common Purpose, has brought together 79 nonprofit leaders from 18 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to strengthen leadership capacity, share experiences, build strategic networks, and explore innovative approaches to sustainable social impact.

Throughout the week, participants are engaging in transformative sessions focused on:
- Enhancing self-awareness and leadership confidence
- Cultivating innovative mindsets to maximize human potential and leverage technology
- Strengthening communication and storytelling skills for greater influence and impact
- Translating leadership insights into practical action for community change

Key speakers;
- Christy Turlington Burns Founder, Every Mother Counts
- Ruth Rogers CBE Founder, The River Café
- Ronny Turiaf NBA Champion and Philanthropist

In addition, participants are exploring how technology can strengthen nonprofit work through a hands-on session, "Making AI Work for Your Mission," facilitated by Akansha Kochar from Microsoft.

At Healthwise Organization, we believe that investing in leadership is investing in stronger communities. We look forward to applying the knowledge, networks, and innovative ideas gained from this global platform to create even greater impact for the communities we serve.

Strengthening SRHR Communication Through Creative Design.

Healthwise Organization and other Civil Society Organizations joined members of the CHOICE Consortium, Government Line Ministries, convened at Linde Hotel in Mponela, Dowa this week for a Creative Design Session aimed at developing innovative and audience-centered communication materials under the Comprehensive Health Options through Innovative Community Engagement (CHOICE) Project.

The session focused on transforming key Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) messages into creative, culturally responsive and impactful communication products. Participants worked collaboratively to develop prototypes for CHOICE posters, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Creative messages include; radio program scripts, Comedies, TV concepts, and Chipatala Cha Pa Foni scripts.

The Deputy Director, Reproductive Health Services – Adolescents, Youth SRHR & Fistula Prevention Hans Katengeza graced the event.

In his remarks, the Deputy Director said that for years, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights has faced setbacks. Myths, silence, stigma, and misinformation have stood in the way of young people accessing the right information and services they need to make safe and informed choices.

"And today, we see a shift. Through creative design and targeted messaging, we are turning complex SRHR information into something young people can understand, relate with, and act on. Messages that speak their language. Messages that meet them where they are, be it in schools, on phones, and in their communities," said Katengeza.

Through this consultative process, stakeholders are ensuring that all communication materials are technically accurate, aligned with national standards and tailored to the realities of communities in Balaka and Lilongwe districts.

The CHOICE Project seeks to increase bodily autonomy, agency, and enjoyment of SRHR by those experiencing poverty, marginalisation and vulnerability particularly women, girls, adolescents and people of diverse s*xual orientations, gender identities and expressions and s*x characteristics (SOGIESC). By developing communication products that resonate with diverse audiences, the project is helping to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing critical SRHR information and services.

As Organizations, they are creating communication tools that inspire positive behaviour change, strengthen community engagement and advance reproductive health and rights for all. This project is being implemented in a consortium led by Oxfam in Malawi funded by Global Affairs Canada.

📚 ONE POINT. BIG DREAMS. CHULU DOES IT AGAIN 🏆
The tension was real in Kasungu Mutchenda AP🔥

13 schools entered the Maphunziro Mbambande Quiz Competition. Only 3 made it to the finals. And the final showdown neck to neck.

Final Results:
🥇 Chulu Primary 59 points 3 peat champions!
🥈 Mwanadindi Primary 58 points just 1 point behind!
🥉 Juni Primary 52 points

Chulu was this close to losing their crown, but their hard work held them strong for the 2nd year running. Mwanadindi, you gave them a real fight!

But the real win? The learners.
12-year-old Annastanzia Banda from Chulu primary school says it best:
“I used to be average in class. Since joining the quiz, I’m now position 1 or 2. I’m more confident, I speak in public, and I’m focused on my future. By no means will I miss national secondary school in this year's Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education”

That’s the Maphunziro Mbambande effect. Competitions that don’t just test knowledge they build confidence, focus, and future leaders.

Healthwise has reached out to a total number of 4,463 learners, 2,204 boys and 2,259 girls through this quiz competition.

Big thanks to Healthwise & World Vision Malawi for making this happen

Healthwise Organization is calling for support to conduct more quizzes in order to improve learners performances and reach out to more learners.
