On 27 MAY 2026, Jesuit Centre for Ecology and Development hosted 67 chiefs from the Catholic Chiefs Association at Chimbalu Ecological Model Village for a learning visit on climate resilience and agroecology. As the global community celebrates International Day for Biological Diversity under the theme “Acting locally for global impact,” the Jesuit Centre for Ecology and Development (JCED) and the Malawi Conference of Catholic Bishops (MCCB) have powerfully united faith with environmental stewardship to commemorate Laudato Si’ Week 2026. To honor both observances through local action, partners gathered at the MCCB premises for Holy Mass followed by a fruit tree planting
